Once again, the most important tips for safe exercise are proper clothing, drinking water, and the warming up and cooling down of the muscles! This article says to warm muscles up with stretching for about 5 to 10 minutes, which is something that makes sense, I think I will go with 10 minutes in the future just to be safe! I did not know that dehydration strains the heart; I will make sure to drink plenty of water! There was not a large amount of new info in this article, but it definitely convinced me to make sure I am following necessary safety tips while I am exercising.

This article gave me many great tips on safe cardio exercise. I knew about precautions such as waiting to exercise after eating and drinking water prior to exercise, but I did not know that one should only wear loose fitting clothes, and I didn't even think about avoiding pollutants while exercising! Luckily, there is not too much pollution to worry about where I live! I knew I am supposed to wait a while after eating before starting exercise, but I had no idea that amount of time is 60 to 90 minutes. Luckily for me, I have followed most of these tips without even thiking about them, but now I know I am exercising safely!

I knew one is supposed to stretch before exercising, but I did not know it was equally as important to stretch after, as well. When I think about it, it does make sense because the muscles need a way to transition from vigorous activity to a more relaxed state. The importance of wearing appropriate clothing and drinking water were also emphasized in this article, like in the last article, so I know these are VERY important tips to follow!
