Praise the Lord . . . and pass the ammunition.
Gracie Wall's insight:

Look, I love my Jesus and I love how I have the freedom to shoot guns if that is what I would like to do, but this is just tacky. I think it is almost trying too hard to make a statement. These people seem to be foaming at the mouth to be look at as a stereotype. I think this whole idea is just kind of gross.

"Now she'll be able to get a job, go to school.
Gracie Wall's insight:

I LOVE this article because it is showing perspectives from both sides which each have their points. I think that this law will be a step in the right direction. I do not know what it is like to be an immigrant but I'm sure it would be scary to have a family member who was in the military fighting for a country that you could get kicked out of, but I think this might increase the amount o people joining the military when unfortunately that part of our country is always getting budget cuts.

The Associated Press and ABC News Radio contributed to this report. More from ABC News.
Gracie Wall's insight:

I do not understand why this is still news. There is no way the government should be allowed to control what people do in this manner and there should not be any bill that tries to stomp on people's HUMAN rights. Anywhere and everywhere everyone should be allowed to love who they want and not have to fight or feel like people are against them.

Facebook crowdsourcing gives lonely boy 1.4 million ... - CNET News | What's up? | Scoop.it
For a surprise birthday gift, a Michigan mom creates a Facebook page to show her son -- who has Asperger syndrome -- that he can have friends all over the world. Read this article by Dara Kerr on CNET News.
Gracie Wall's insight:

Seeing a story like this makes me happy and sad at the same time. I saw this page on my Facebook and was happy that so many people cared. I think more people should celebrate people like this boy and his mom instead of drug-addicted celebrities who are bad role-models.

U.S. investigators suspect missing Malaysia plane flew on for hours after disappearing from radar

U.S. investigators suspect missing Malaysia plane flew on for hours after disappearing from radar | What's up? | Scoop.it

IU.S.investigators suspect that Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 stayed in the air for about four hours past the time it reached its last confirmed location, according to two people familiar with the details (WSJ เผยสหรัฐสืบข้อมูลเครื่องยนต์ (Data Engine)...

Gracie Wall's insight:

I find this story so strange because the last time a plane went missing and was never found was Amelia Earheart. And that was a LONG time ago. You would think with a big chunk of the world looking for this huge plane there would have been a sighting or SOMETHING, but it has been missing without a trace for over a week. How is that possible in today's world? This is just so strange.

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - A New Jersey couple does not have to pay for their 18-year-old daughter's college education, a judge ruled Tuesday, CBS New York reports.
Gracie Wall's insight:

I think it is interesting that an 18 year old would sue her parents for money. Seems like a case of spoiled brat to me. I can not believe that this is even a case. If parents do not want to pay, they should not have to. It is their money, not hers. She should get a job.

California's governor just declared a drought emergency after the state's driest year in recorded history.

Via Jack Lindblad
Gracie Wall's insight:

I feel like this article is important because it is relevant to my life and how everyone around me will have to make changes in their lifestyles indefinitely. The drought could affect many people and their jobs as well as their livelihoods, and that is a scary concept.

Jack Lindblad's curator insight, January 28, 2014 11:01 PM

Extreme Weather borne of runaway temperature rise, broken nitrogen cycle, and biodiversity loss - three tipping points this planet now termed eAArth, has passed, prematurely ending all life and humanity, in this the Sixth Great Extinction, of this, the Anthropogenic Era - acting synergistically has ended any slim hope for survival from Climate mitigation. Determining resilient pockets of Revitalization and Climate Adaptation remains in humanity's vanishing toolkit for survival. But relocating 95% of California's 38 million population to the Extreme Weather reality of alternating Polar Vortex devastating freezing below zero temperature with Permanent Drought consuming the Midwest and Eastern continental US in no way is an easy or simple objective. The Great Culling is all-encompassing and on track. No public policy to slow down Extreme Climate catastrophes is possible since three tipping points of planetary habitability are passed as other tipping points are approaching. Big Corporate Everything has ended life on this planet as we know it.

Gracie Wall's insight:

So many celebrities these days are dying of drug overdose. Why would people who have everything throw it away for nothing? I loved him as an actor and thought he was brilliant, but if he was so "brilliant" why was he a drug addict. We celebrate celebrities even though they do things that if a normal person did them we would condemn them, not worship them. It kind of makes me sick.
