Your appearance, shouldn't affect your ability and your skills to perform a task. Tattoos are not a problem anymore I believe this is a first step off acceptance someones personality and not judging a book by its cover.

Excerpts (4&5): Psychology of Love, Marriage & Sex | Angie's Diary

Excerpts (4&5): Psychology of Love, Marriage & Sex | Angie's Diary | What's happening in the world we live in? | Scoop.it
Our Sexuality is a big part of who we are whether we want to accept it or not. You cannot learn to romance others by reading books, taking notes...

Via Angie
Sharena Hamilton's insight:

Loving others and being loved is maybe one of the best thing that can ever happen to connect two people. No one should be told that they can not marry the person they love. Marriage is about love and forgiveness, not gender or sexual orientation so love shouldn't have a any restrictions.

Donor dads win right to see their children and play a part in their lives: Landmark ruling could affect thousands

Donor dads win right to see their children and play a part in their lives: Landmark ruling could affect thousands | What's happening in the world we live in? | Scoop.it
The ruling by the High Court's Family Division decreed that a sperm donor need never have had a sexual relationship with a mother in order to have a say in the child’s upbringing.

Sharena Hamilton's insight:

I believe this is a topic that should be brought up. I believe a child should have every right to know who they biological parents are even if one is a sperm donor. I also believe that the parent should have right to build a connection with their child even if their a sperm donor or not. Being a child and not knowing who your father or mother is can have an emotional impact on you. So I believe sperm donors should have contact with their child.

Hold on but are not sperm donor meant to be anonymous?
Paige durand's curator insight, February 5, 5:35 PM

I believe this is a huge topic to be expanded on. If a sperm donor should have contact or not with said child. this can also be very controversial but as well as physiological research to see if this is damaging mentally to a sperm donor child. It can also be connected to the new MTV show that's been playing showing all of the sperm donor children trying to find their donor. this can also lead to the laws that it may get involved with too.

Sunday 25 August 2013: Nobody's slave

Sunday 25 August 2013: Nobody's slave | What's happening in the world we live in? | Scoop.it

“In a book you can go anywhere. Nobody rules you. You can put the book down. You’re in control, but you can get swept away. It’s perfect.”

Elden has been unhoused for twelve years. He’s an Iraq veteran, and in the beginning of his time on the street he suffered from PTSD, anger management problems, and alcoholism. But he quit drinking nearly three years ago because he felt he’d become a slave to alcohol, and he's nobody's slave. He’s been seriously looking for work for several years now, and so far, no luck. “If you have no address and no work record, they’re afraid to hire you,” he explains. “I’ve had people rip my application up right in front of me. ‘You’re homeless,’ one guy said. ‘Forget it.’ I left there thinking I’d like to kill that guy if I could get away with it.”

Via Karen Cropper
Sharena Hamilton's insight:

I believe, that we are trying to stop poverty but still not giving the less fortunate a chance.  Elden a Iraq veteran has gotten his life together and is trying to find him a job to provide for him but no one wanted to give him a opportunity because he is homeless. I believe this is discrimination and everyone should have an opportunity to be able to provide and survive in this world.
