seeing, feeling and exploring places and cultures of the world

In the beginning this blog was created as a place for me to write about my thoughts on my daily life. However a few months after the first post the idea of having a more focused blog came into my mind. I love traveling and taking photographs of the places I go. Hence my own travel blog was born.

Choosing an appropriate name for the new blog proved to be a challenge in itself. It took me quite a long time before making a decision on the blog’s name. I did try to find a rather poetic or classy name. However I ended up picking one expression that really represents what I feel every time I travel and explore the beauty of this wonderful world: What an Amazing World!

Douglas McCain, 33, died in Syrian battle between Islamic State group and the rival al-Nusra Front

An American fighting for the Islamic State was killed over the weekend in Syria, US officials have said.

The United States had been aware that Douglas McCain, 33, a one-time aspiring rapper and basketball fan from California, was in Syria, the White House said, confirming his death.

McCain, who converted from Christianity to Islam about a decade ago, was killed in fighting against the al-Nusra Front, a group linked to al-Qaida and blacklisted by the United States, US media reports said.

Volvo is launching its all-new 2015 XC90 with some very efficient engines and new safety tech.

The 2015 XC90 carries all-new styling, but is still familiar up front, with the company's logo slashing diagonally through its prominent, upright grille. Like the concept, it carries T-Shaped LED running lights through the headlights. The company calls them the "Thor's Hammer" design, an evocative designation that we think is fantastic. Under that new front end is a choice of two quite powerful, but very efficient powertrains. The standard XC90 gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged engine with all-wheel drive making an impressive 316 horsepower. Or if buyers want to be a little greener and more powerful, there is the XC90 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid with the same engine, albeit augmented with an electric motor to produce a staggering 400 hp.

Charles Tiayon's curator insight, August 28, 10:17 PM

With the arrival of Pinterest, a new player joined the competitive search engine landscape. As time passed, social-savvy journalists began noting the rising power of the plucky image-sharing website. Even so, Google has apparently been unfazed by the rapidly advancing Pinterest search engine. In this blog post we set out to compare the two search engines in an effort to find out what this all means for small business.

This new bit of bloggy goodness started out with a seemingly simple concept. Here at Tailwind, we see Pinterest as a mishmash of social media platform and search engine powerhouse. But what happens if we compare Pinterest to Google, everyone’s favorite search engine? My search-happy adventure actually started with Google. I typed in ‘Pinterest vs. Google,’ ready for an onslaught of useful information. Said onslaught never occurred. My efforts essentially resulted in a grand total of two articles: one on Buzzfeed, and another on Searchengineland.com. It’s worth noting that the second article was written to refute the former. Let’s begin with a quick look at each of these articles, shall we?

Let’s start with the Buzzfeed article. Although the author is full of Pin-happy zeal, there are more than a few issues. Essentially, she decided to conduct a small experiment- she ran a few searches through each platform, and then showed the results side by side. In every single instance, she declared Pinterest search the winner. However, the searches she conducted, along with her personal evaluation of the results, were a bit biased. She decided that more interesting results (interesting being entirely subjective) were ‘better.’ But this isn’t always the case, given that not every person that is searching for these terms will be looking for the same results.

So then, does this mean that Pinterest is in fact a worse search engine than Google? Not at all. As Danny Sullivan notes in his Searchengineland article, the two websites are simply used in different ways. As Mr. Sullivan states, Pinterest has a unique “search voice.” Essentially, Pinterest is perfect for finding artistically beautiful images with relatively simple keywords. Google, on the other hand, is ideal for getting exactly what you search for. There is very little room for interpretation. I’m basically in agreement with the Searchengineland article, although this is mostly due to the Buzzfeed article being a bit too click-baity for my tastes.

3d Laser Light | 3D Printer

Low Level Laser Therapy, commonly known as LLLT, is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation and give relief for both acute and chronic pain. It is a form of phototherapy that involves the application of monochromatic and coherent light. Low Level Laser Therapy is also referred to as Cold Laser Therapy.

LLLT has primarily been shown useful in the short-term treatment of acute pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, and possibly chronic joint disorders. LLLT has also been useful in the treatment of both acute and chronic neck pain. LLLT has also been useful in the treatment of both acute and chronic neck pain.

There are a number of potential clinical uses for laser therapy, such as those in medical, dental, acupuncture, podiatric, chiropractic, osteopathic, and cosmetic applications. The most popular application for low-level lasers is in acupuncture practice. Laser acupuncture usually uses low-energy laser beams instead of traditional acupuncture needles to influence the flow of current at the acupuncture points.

Terms of indefinite ceasefire – brokered by Egypt – expected to be similar to those agreed at the end of 2012 conflict

The war in Gaza ended on Tuesday after Israel and the Palestinians agreed to halt fighting indefinitely, putting an end to seven weeks of catastrophic loss of life and destruction, but on terms which are likely to leave many on both sides of the conflict wondering what was achieved.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad – the main militant groups in Gaza – the Palestinian Authority and Israel agreed on an open-ended ceasefire beginning at 7pm on Tuesday evening, bringing relief to civilians on both sides of the border.
