This article just generally introduce what components brand communication and IMC have.Actually, we need further information to discuss what they mean to us. For example, in my point of view, "the fundation stage" probably is the most important among the process of IMC. demand and supply are the two key elements within the word "market" anyway, author need more information to support his or her statemnt.

This article is pretty interesting in regards to the definition of IMC. Although it does not directly explain what IMC means it discusses the way American Idol has used IMC which then leads the reader to what IMC is. It discusses that American Idol has a tablet/smartphone app, a website, twitter, videos, SMS etc (and of course the show itself and its television ads). An evident theme in Idol's mutlimedia usage is that it is all based around one desired result and that is to get fans to vote. This is an example of how IMC should always have an organising idea.

I totally agree with u Hannah! The is artcile expresses the communication between the audience and the company is very important. For the communicaiton is based on the SMS, people can vote by usimg mobile phones, and even they can post their comments or opinions by thier phones. The discussion among audience will improve the attention of the competition among the society. Therefore, IMC can help the company get more close with the customers, and more information of the market, more feedbacks from consumers will be gathered by IMC. Effecive IMC will help marketers make great benefit.

This article provides a good example of what I think a large amount of companies are trying to do in terms of marketing their products/services using the advantages of new technology. It is clearly a great way to attract a following by consumers. Using IMC in the way that American Idol has done, generates a following of consumers that are more ingaged with the show than others, however, what about the people who arent such big fans of the show? how does American Idol speak to them? The answer to this lies in the article about the IMC used in Coca Cola, which includes having a potential audience and an initial audience. The fans from American Idol are the initial audience and then their friends on facebook, twitter and other social networks are the potential audience. This strategy involving using the consumers as a marketing tool is a brilliant idea, and is one of the reason as Ryan says that “IMC helps marketers make a great benefit”.
