Big question and straight answer : How is content curation affected by Google's Panda and Penguin updates.

Jeff Domansky's curator insight, October 3, 2013 4:35 PM

Guillaume Decugis offers a valuable perspective on curation, the impact of Google algorithm changes on SEO and side references of course to Matt Cutts. In a phrase:  "Add value!"

Steve Hartkopf's curator insight, October 7, 2013 3:18 PM

Anytime Matt speaks about SEO we should listen. In this video he specifically discusses SEO and content creation. He recommends a separate website page for old blog posts. I assume Google can identify the old content as separate and, therefore, acceptable rather than someone trying to game the system by throwing up a bunch of old or curated content in hopes of improve search engine results on the back of other people's content.

If you want to monitor new inbound links to your site, including their value, linking date, anchor text and more Majestic SEO has introduced recently a free-for-all service that any owner of a verified domain can use on his own site.

With SEOMajestic you can also see where there are new broken links on your site. At times these happen just because the page you are linking to on another site has reorganized and its page addresses have alla changed.

To access this free service you need to verify your own site either by including a text snippet in your home page meta tags or via Google Authentication.

The PRO version, simply extends the powerful capabilities offered by SEOMajestic to the service of analyzing the link profile of any web site. Not just yours.

Top Tech Trends & People of 2012 (Focus on New Media Communications)

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

If you would like a free tablet-friendly PDF file, just email me at kenmorrison30 @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

P.S. There are some typos and honest mistakes in this textbook, but I am comfortable sharing it as is. I am excited to redesign it for next semester.
