What's All the Fuss About Evernote? Should I Be Using It?

What's All the Fuss About Evernote? Should I Be Using It? | Wepyirang | Scoop.it
Dear Lifehacker, It seems like everyone is always raving about Evernote, but I don't really understand its appeal. Isn't it just a notes app that other apps do better or simpler?

Web Music Service Engagement Rules
Imagine Spotify's engagement and time on site numbers. They must be staggering. Apparently every other digital Big Dog is imagining how they can create a web music service too says CNN.

Twitter announced and launched a "Trending" music service yesterday and this post outlines how each of the majors (except for Facebook strangely) all have plans to attack your ears.

Take Notes and References While Watching Video Clips: VideoNotes

Take Notes and References While Watching Video Clips: VideoNotes | Wepyirang | Scoop.it

VideoNotes is a neat new tool for taking notes while watching videos.

VideoNotes allows you to load any YouTube video on the left side of your screen and on the right side of the screen VideoNotes gives you a notepad to type on.

VideoNotes integrates with your Google Drive account.

By integrating with Google Drive VideoNotes allows you to share your notes and collaborate on your notes just as you can do with a Google Document.

I have just began testing this recommendation by Richard Byrne on Free Technology 4 Teachers.  But in the time I have taken to test the web resource, I have found it to live up to the billing of syncrhonizing notes to the video.  Now the video used was from YouTube and the site does have an option for other videos.  So, I will be looking further into what other video sources it will work with while synchronizing one's notes to Google Drive.

theo kuechel's comment, April 25, 5:32 AM
Thanks for your comment Dean - I have had some problems - when deleting a 'chapter mark' it seems to throw sync of subsequent markers - just something to be aware of. or possible just me?

Top Tech Trends & People of 2012 (Focus on New Media Communications)

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

If you would like a free tablet-friendly PDF file, just email me at kenmorrison30 @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

P.S. There are some typos and honest mistakes in this textbook, but I am comfortable sharing it as is. I am excited to redesign it for next semester.
