How Important Is Self Worth in Terms of Healing?

How Important Is Self Worth in Terms of Healing? | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

For some, the unworthiness runs deep and has been running a long time. It comes in a voice from the past. It is often the voice of someone who should have been trustworthy- a parent, an uncle, a grandparent. But instead this person told them that they were stupid and not good enough in speech and in action every chance they got. The voice stays with people, long past the end of the abusers’ life, and it is dreadfully hard to get rid of. It defines for them who they are and what their position in the world is: loser, disgusting, subhuman, undeserving.

You’re Better Than “That Little Voice!”

You’re Better Than “That Little Voice!” | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it
What if I really can’t do what I think I can do?  What if I’m not good enough?

Why do we give so much power to these awful little voices, which are evil, lying saboteurs?  How do I know these voices are lying?  Because, for many of us who have thought things through, we can point to more reasons to be reasonably hopeful and more data points of success that line our track record than the one self-questioning confidence-sucker that we’re allowing to have far too much power.

Your Daily Dynamo To Do:  Make a list of the successful data points in your history.  Look at what you’ve survived, overcome, achieved, earned and accomplished.  Keep this list handy and add to it often.  Ask others to help you brainstorm items to add to your list.  Review it, celebrate it, call out and be grateful for the skills, experiences, characteristics and talents that got you through or were enhanced by each item on your list.

Journaling is best prescription for mental health improvement...

Recognizing that you are in a downward spiral is the first step to correcting it. You must become self-aware and really see what you are doing in your life. One way to do this is through journaling. By writing down your thoughts and feelings throughout the day and week you can see patterns that arise. Are you always depressed after work? Do you dread the weekends? Do you have someone in your life that brings you down, or someone that brings you up? All these questions can be answered by writing regularly in a journal.

Self-Compassion Opens The Door To Self-Healing

Self-Compassion Opens The Door To Self-Healing | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Until we learn self-compassion, we aren’t loving ourselves. Being out of love with ourselves is the cause of all our spiritual / emotional / mental / physical wounds. When we aren’t loving ourselves, we feel disconnected from our Source, which is Love Itself.

Once we’ve opened up our end of the conversation with our Source, have acknowledged our wound, and have become willing to take responsibility for our lives, then awakening compassion for ourselves is the next essential step in our healing and well being.

Leaders Need to Learn to Think So They Can Speak the Truth Clearly

Leaders Need to Learn to Think So They Can Speak the Truth Clearly | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Why are so many supervisors, managers, and even some big dogs with the snazzy three letter titles: CEO, CIO, EVP, etc., incapable of communicating clearly?  Why are so many managers unable to provide honest commentary on work performance without belittling the employees, skirting the real issues, or confusing the employees with nebulous, non-specific examples?

Why do so many managers suck at speaking the truth in ways that will help and not hurt employees?

(From the article): Leaders who choose to lead at a higher level will take the time to think and identify: What does my team need to hear from me to help them understand, learn, grow, and move themselves and this organization forward? Then, how can I say it with specifics, examples, data, analogies, visuals, or some other means to make sure everyone understands? What can I do to communicate more clearly?

Priority. Clarity. Capacity.

Priority. Clarity. Capacity. | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Life doesn’t always go smoothly.

Chances are that in the last few weeks, someone has let you down by not doing something, half doing something, or failing to even consider your needs or wants. It might be an employee, a friend, or even your spouse.

Anger is probably the first reaction. Then … some more anger maybe. Then maybe some hurt. Then, quite possibly, a healthy dose of passive aggression.

But before we get ready to call someone out who has wrongly slighted us, we should ask ourselves another question. Have I let someone down by not doing something, half doing something, or failing to even consider their wants or needs?

Storytelling Vs Journaling – The Razor Thin Line

Storytelling Vs Journaling – The Razor Thin Line | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Not everything I write in a notebook is true. Far from it. I have this nagging fear that if someone was rude enough to rifle through my books that I would be declared insane. Or at the very least profoundly disturbed. I need to bring some rudimentary organization to my writing efforts. There are numerous notebooks scattered around the house. Mixed in to every notebook is day-to-day journaling, memoir style snippets, and some just out-and-out total fiction. It’s getting confusing even for me.

Great Leadership: Disconnection at the Heart of Corporate Failure

Great Leadership: Disconnection at the Heart of Corporate Failure | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Have you ever watched TV with the volume down and the radio on in the background? Some may describe that as crazy, some call it multi-tasking whilst others may sadly say ‘oh we have that all the time at work, everyone talking at once, no one listening, saying one thing and doing another’, creating confusion, misalignment and disconnection, and even at times manifesting as corruption and unethical practice.

Disconnection is at the heart of many corporate failures and can happen on several levels.

Learning to Stop Clinging to People: Know That You Are Loved

Learning to Stop Clinging to People: Know That You Are Loved | Well Loved Woman | Scoop.it

Sometimes we cling to people, looking for proof that we're loved. But we're only able to feel loved when we stop desperately searching for it.

“As long as you make an identity for yourself out of pain, you cannot be free of it.” ~Eckhart Tolle

I have a heart condition. Not one that you could see on an x-ray, or even one that you would find in a medical textbook.

For as long as I can remember, I have felt like my heart has had a gaping hole in it—and I’ve been stuffing anyone, anything into that space to try and feel a little less empty. A little less alone.
