Currently rules on personal independence payments mean that mobility points, which allow people to access a Blue Badge for disabled parking, are allocated on a physical capacity to walk only not mental impairment.
This is demonstrably unrealistic & impacts both people with disabilities and carers.

The government has suffered a humiliating defeat as the House of Commons passed a vote to pause the rollout of Universal Credit, its new flagship benefit scheme. The motion was brought by the Labour Party and was passed despite attempts by the Conservatives to prevent the vote taking place. The vote was passed by 299 to zero, with a number of Conservative MPs voting against the government.

Police are urgently appealing to trace an 11-year-old girl who has been missing since leaving school. Leah Taylor was last seen in the Holderness Road area of Hull at around 12.10pm on Monday. Humberside Police are appealing for anyone who sees her or knows where she is to contact them immediately. “We’re appealing for help in locating missing 11-year-old Leah Taylor who was last seen leaving school,” a spokesperson said.

Any MP with a heart or the slightest bit of empathy will do all they can to stop the continued roll out of UC until much needed fixes made! When a person has NO or very little money a weeks wait is bad enough never mind 6 weeks or a month and a loan has to be paid back, keeping them in debt and or contributing to them going into further debt. The continued lies, manipulation of statistics and 'excuses' are not acceptable, we are talking about people's lives, children, disabled!
