Theresa May to announce withdrawal from single market in new hard Brexit strategy

Theresa May to announce withdrawal from single market in new hard Brexit strategy | Welfare, Disability, Politics and People's Right's | Scoop.it
The government is prepared to abandon the single market, customs union and the European Court of Justice in order to achieve a clean break with the EU, Theresa May is expected to say this week. The Prime Minister will also call for “an end to the division” which has maintained a hold over the country since the referendum, in a speech which is expected to give the most detailed insight yet into her approach to the forthcoming talks with Brussels.
britishroses's insight:
Exactly what people voted for! Cameron spent £9 million of our money to produce his little booklet to inform every household in the UK of what leaving the EU would mean, and leaving the single market was one of those. People voted for an END to the free movement of people (the world is too dangerous for this anymore and will get worse), and the EU made it very clear no free movement, no access to the single market.
