Robin Good's curator insight, January 29, 2013 5:26 AM

TiffanyScreens is a cross-platform app that allows you to share live the contents of your computer screen with every computer present on the same local network (either via WiFi or LAN).

"Imagine a scenario, where every participant brought a Laptop to a meeting and watched the presentation on that Laptop's display - participants would probably sit on a table facing each other, instead of the wall.

No adjustments are necessary; images are scaled automatically on arrival, to best match the receiver's display-capability. To support lively meetings, everyone participating can with a single button click, turn his computer into the presenting device."

Works on:

  • Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Mac OS X 10.4 / 10.5 / 10.6 / 10.7 / 10.8
  • Linux

Free version available.

Paid version: $39

Handig als je iets wil laten waarbij je veel moet inzoomen. Of als de opstelling van de computerruimte, zoals in veel bibliotheken, gewoonte niet handig is voor een groepsgewijze uitleg.

Free Technology for Teachers: Three Good, Free iPad Timeline Apps for History Students

Free Technology for Teachers: Three Good, Free iPad Timeline Apps for History Students | Weekly Web Wonders | Scoop.it

As a student I loved looking at timelines in my social studies textbooks. As a history teacher I still love timelines. Timelines in a web browser or as a stand-alone app can offer students more information than a paper-based timeline. Recently, I spent a little time looking for free timeline apps to use on my iPad. While there are a lot of paid apps I didn't find too many free ones that I liked, but I did find three. Here are the three that I like.

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Weekly Web Wonders | Scoop.it

"Creating an eBook online is no rocket science and anyone with the rudimentary knowledge of how to use internet can get his/her eBook up and viral in a couple of minutes provided the content part of it is already written in a word document. I find the typing and editing part the most  difficult stage in this process;  however, if you just want to set up a short ebook for your students then that would not take you much time.

Just a couple of weeks ago I shared here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a list of great apps  to use to create eBooks on iPad and I received several emails following that post and some of you asked for tutorials on this topic. Here is one of my favorite tutorials on how to create an eBook on iPad that I always recommend to my fellow teachers. Check it out below and share with us what you think of it. Enjoy"
