I agree with peonix hu's insight that a combination of advertising, promotions, PR and direct marketing will give any company a better return on investment than it would if they only focused on one method of marketing. The exact mix will be determined by the product acti ute andthe product type combine with the expectations of the target audience for each brand or product but I think they will need to have those marketing methods in at least some quantity to be able to have highly effective marketing

This is a very logical article starts with questions about what, how and why advertising. It expresses the importance of advertising that it can increase brand awareness and familiarity. In addition, it also answered the confusion of is it efficient to give budget on advertising and which category does advertising belong to. In my opinion, IMC is a integration of several communication tools which included advertising, therefore in order to maximize the return of investment on advertising and the total return of all IMC objectives, budgeting is a must.

establishing objectives and budgeting for the promotional program is vital for a organisation because without a objective there is no promotional program and then you will loose consumers but most importantly without a budget there will be no point in a promotional progam because is there no budget then there is no consumers so i definitly agree with this article.

@Linda Huynh it is crucial but real that small businesses have very limited budget on marketing so that they want to make the best of it. So if they can't do it from a high-budget way of promoting, they need to do it creatively as this article states. How money is spent even more wisely is an important issue for small business.
