Choosing table linens for your wedding tables involves colors and sizes. While you are the expert about which color(s) you want, below is a chart to help you when choosing the size cloth to use with your particular table shape.
When planning your reception, you are often asked for the timeline (I personally call it a sequence of events, because nothing ever goes off on time for a wedding!) and so you proceed to work on this with you wedding planner, DJ and caterer, to name a few. The day is a long one for you, but keep in mind that the day is a long one for your guests, too. They are literally devoting their entire day to be with you all to help celebrate your wedding day. Their reward for showering you with gifts and devoting the day to you is great food and drinks! Unfortunately, when you are doing your budget-these areas are the ones where the scrimping and saving takes place. It should be the 1st thing you budget for, along with your venue and then enforce your budget on the flowers, go for the DJ over the band and maybe forgo that photo booth; but give them food and drink and this will create the atmosphere for the entire evening.
Now with that off of my chest and I hope that you will take my advice; here are the suggestions that I have to make sure that your guests leave happy, full and satisfied:
If you are having an outdoor wedding ceremony, make sure to offer a beverage to the guests as they are waiting outside for you. A wonderful "cocktail" either butler-passed or a punch or flavored water station with ice on the side is great; try a lemon-mint flavored water, which is very refreshing.During the cocktail hour, as you are getting the remainder of your pictures taken, serve a signature drink, beer and wine along with a non-alcoholic option. Have butler-passed hors d'oeuvres or an appetizer buffet (beware on that because some guests will pile it on their plates). In Texas, having a fabulous flavored Margarita and a great salsa bar, with a variety of different salsas and guacamole are very popular over the cheese and vegetable tray.Of course there is dinner. Open bar or signature drink, beer and wine, or beer and wine only; but have something! Then the cake and coffee service. Hold off on this as long as possible because some guests will wait until after the cake cutting to leave.
Then the party kicks into full gear. Dancing, socializing and having a great time. About an hour after the dancing goes into full gear-I suggest bringing out some form of food because your guests are getting hungry from all that dancing and you want to get them into their stomachs after having a couple of drinks. An economical option is a cheese and vegetable tray; but there are so many unique options to choose from. Your guests will leave satisfied in the experiences they had for the entire evening.
