Flat design is pretty straightforward. It is flat. It’s a way of designing without adding three-dimensional attributes – no shadows, no gradients, no bevels, etc. It doesn’t mean flat design has no effects at all, it just means that it doesn’t use effects to create depth and dimension. Flat design is a technique that uses simple effects – or lack thereof – to create a design scheme that does not include three-dimensional attributes. Effects such as drop shadows, bevels, embossing and gradients are not used in flat design projects.
Some call the look of flat design simple, although it can be quite complex. The look itself is simple, direct and user-friendly, making it an increasingly popular option for mobile user interfaces as well as trendy web design.

So why it is so difficult to find a “pricing page” that is well designed? If designers are taking websites to a next level where usability and beauty are combined to deliver awesomeness, why when you go from a homepage to a pricing page you feel like you are entering a totally different website? Designers should pay more attention to this specific page, specially if they want better conversion rates.
It doesn’t matter if you are developing a website for a restaurant, a service provider or something else that may require periodical payments, you need to put a lot thought into the pricing portion of the site. First of all, you want to show the pricing menu in a clear way so that users don’t need to search for it. Second, if the homepage looks amazing, do the same with the pricing page so it’s obvious to the user that you care about your product. Third, remember to be clear and provide the important information your users need to know. Avoid small letters and confusing data.

Performance improvements over the last year mean Web pages measured by the Google Analytics service load significantly faster for people using mobile devices.
The pages load 30 percent faster for mobile browsers now than they did a year ago, Steve Souders, Google's head performance engineer, said in a presentation earlier. And for desktop browser users, the pages load 3.5 percent faster.
Google on Thursday announced the launch of a “Save to Drive” button for its Google Drive service. The feature is available now: you can implement it on your site as well as start saving files from sites that have already done so. The answer, as with all things complicated, is that it depends. But at least in some reasonable situations -- not just power users but also middle-end customers who upgrade to Adobe's latest releases -- the Creative Cloud isn't a bad deal at all.
For example, imagine a customer planning on three years' use of the Design Standard version of CS6, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro. That customer would pay about $1,648 for the original product and one upgrade at going rates.
With the Creative Cloud, $1,800 pays for three years' worth of that software. But for that extra $152, the customer also gets Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash Pro, Edge Animate, Muse, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, Audition, and various online services.
Choosing the Creative Cloud is a no-brainer when looking at the CS6 Production Premium package, which is like CS6 Design Standard but also with Premiere Pro, After Effects, Speedgrade, Audition, and Flash Professional. The premium package price is $2,273 for an original version and update -- $625 more than the subscription, but with less software and no online services.
