webmarketing rulez!

Here Are 5 Reasons Instagram Really Matters (Especially for 2016's Marketing Budgets)

Here Are 5 Reasons Instagram Really Matters (Especially for 2016's Marketing Budgets) | webmarketing rulez! | Scoop.it

This is a big statement from MDG Advertising: Instagram may be the single biggest opportunity for social media marketers next year. Can it be true?

We’ve heard plenty this year from Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, as their uses and back end business deals fluctuate, but Instagram has been the steady social platform not making too much noise. But that just might be what makes it 2016’s winner. Its consistency has made it the fastest growing platform around right now, and MDG has gathered fresh data to prove why marketers everywhere should be factoring Instagram into their budgets.

A few key takeaways from the infographic....

13 Stats That Should Terrify CMOs

13 Stats That Should Terrify CMOs | webmarketing rulez! | Scoop.it

So when marketers talk about how much they work with numbers now that we’ve entered the sci-fi1 age of Internet data collection, I cringe. Let’s just say I’m glad I’m covering marketing for a living rather than actually doing it.

But just because numbers may be marketers’s new best friend, that doesn’t mean they’re all good. Some, in fact, are a bit terrifying.

And because I’m a sick bastard who wants you all to feel my mathematical pain, I’ve gathered 13 stats that should send chills down any marketer’s spine. Just to be clear, all of these statistics have pros and cons, and some stats may not have an impact on your marketing strategy. But hopefully at least one of them will get you to jump. Enjoy....

The technology available to entrepreneurs, especially those in the early stages of growing their businesses, is nothing short of amazing considering what was available even just a few years ago (let alone 30 to 40 years ago for those old enough to remember the pre PC days). The problem for business owners is finding enough time to stay abreast of what is available and what each product can do for a business. Articles such as this are a godsend for the busy business owner, and a quick look will determine if you should be using any of these products in your business, to make life just that little easier.

Not every small business owner is blessed with an abundance of knowledge in respect to what does and does not work in the context of marketing the products or services of a small business. It is also true that whilst an abundance of advice is readily available to help small business owners, not all of it is readily accessible in one spot, nor is it always valid. Rarely does a good single collection of small business marketing strategies such as the one in this article surface for open free access. Recommended reading for any business owner needing to improve their marketing outcomes.

We've Lost Nearly Half Our Social Referral Traffic in the Last 12 Months | Buffer | webmarketing rulez! | Scoop.it

This is a little tough to admit.

I’ve been failing at social media marketing.

It feels weird admitting this, too: We as a Buffer marketing team—working on a product that helps people succeed on social media—have yet to figure out how to get things workingon Facebook (especially), Twitter, Pinterest, and more. And that’s super scary to admit. What’s happening? I wish I knew!

We’ve got lots of theories as to what’s behind our decline, and we’re in the midst of new experiments to see if we can move the needle on social media. Moreso I have some thoughts on what’s at play here for Buffer on social media—and maybe for you, too....

Google may kill its social network, Google+, following Vic Gundotra's departure.Google is reportedly planning to dismantle its social network, Google+. Google will consider Google+ a platform rather than a product, TechCrunch reports, citing "multiple sources.

"This means that it will no longer exist as a social network aimed at competing with Facebook, but it still might be integrated into Google's existing products. The company has allegedly been shifting the teams that used to be at "the core" of Google+ and is moving more talent toward the Android team....

Please, if you feel as I do, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD TO GOOGLE!  KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF GOOGLE+ UNLESS IT IS IMPROVEMENT TO UTILIZATION, ETC.

Thank you one and all.

I must admit that I'm one of those people who was kind of irritated when I started to hear that Google+ was ANOTHER social network I had to worry about.  As if Facebook wasn't enough pain-in-the-ass.  However, I will admit also that any property that Google has is probably going to be impossible to ignore simply because they clearly are going to give it preferential treatment (just like Blogger).
