En termes d’utilisation dans le monde, les vidéos en ligne commencent à rivaliser avec la télévision. A very powerful statement. Learning that too few students experience. I find myself wondering...if we could change schools to be more engaging for students, what would the future be like? Push passion for learning.

Anyone who has used the Prezi platform would know that creating a Prezi and uploading it to Prezi.com is easy enough, however when it comes to converting it to a YouTube video, there seems to be no native method of doing so... Via Baiba Svenca

I started using Evernote for storing notes from meetings so I could retrieve them on any device at any location. It is searchable and does way more than keep notes stored and accessible. This site will lead you to excellent explanations of Evernote and its functionality. It can be particularly useful for teachers and their students !--Lou

So I created one for the elearning showcase in Wellington on the 21st February. It was pretty easy and look forward to sharing on twitter and taking and sharing photos during the event. Only draw back is the Americanisation of the date. I like the fact I can have all of my events on the app and can share via social media during them. It's a great tool and really easy to use. Le principe est génial ! Vous lisez un texte en anglais (n'importe quel texte trouvé sur le web qui vous intéresse), vous cliquez sur les mots difficiles pour avoir une traduction immédiate, puis vous pouvez réviser les mots sélectionnés ! Ce n'est pas très ludique mais très efficace. En plus, c'est gratuit...
Adapté pour adultes et collégiens ...

Hey, Steve here, creator of Readlang. Very happy to see it shared here! It is already somewhat mobile friendly, in that the design adapts to smaller screens, and I use it on my iPad all the time. I hope eventually to develop iOS and Android applications too.

Students, I've just tested this myself and it's a useful tool. Apparently it's also becoming more mobile compatible, which will be a postive development. There's an introduction video so watch it first and see if it's a tool that you'll put to use. I've added the extension to Chrome.
You can upload webpages for reading and if you're unsure of a word, click on it for the translation. This will appear in your word bank as a flashcard with some text ( this provides you with the context which is an intelligent feature). You can then run through your list of flashcards and learn the words. Remember to put them in context when you are doing your practice as this will help you retain them.

At http://www.learnclick.com it is very simple to create quizzes. For gap-filling exercises (so-called cloze tests) you just mark the words with your mouse. This resource is where teachers create online tests quick and easy. There is a different range of tests that teachers can choose from such as cloze tests, multiple choice and matching exercises. Great resource as the teacher can blend student's work into a simple test or quiz for them to complete.

A very useful and user-friendly tool to create cloze tests, multiple choice quizzes and matching exercises. You can download them as pdf or embed into your sites. It requires registration and a yearly membership fee.

Stampsy is an interesting graphic tool currently for the iPad. It has a few necessry tools such as Headline, Text, Images, Colour Palette, Various Fonts, and best of all it is limited to 10 pages. If Powerpoints were limited to 10 pages I wonder how much real information would be lost? No doubt we'd see the important information. Check it out.
