Stampsy is a new iPad app for creating digital content. The steps are easy to follow - add images and text to your page using drag-and-drop method. Change colours or fonts, and design the page as you like. The result you'll get is a linear presentation with great visual potential, perfect for storytelling purposes. Stampsy is an interesting graphic tool currently for the iPad. It has a few necessry tools such as Headline, Text, Images, Colour Palette, Various Fonts, and best of all it is limited to 10 pages. If Powerpoints were limited to 10 pages I wonder how much real information would be lost? No doubt we'd see the important information. Check it out.

I'm unfamiliar with the site this comes from (techshout) but it's a useful introduction to a current range of offerings in the category of screen recording, screencasts, etc. Looks like some potential new tools to explore.

Infographics are interesting–a mash of (hopefully) easily-consumed visuals (so, symbols, shapes, and images) and added relevant character-based data (so, numbers, words, and brief sentences). The learning application for them is clear, with many academic standards–including the Common Core standards–requiring teachers to use a variety of media forms, charts, and other data for both information reading as well as general fluency... This is a great tool which matches up YouTube music videos to lyrics. Just enter the name of a singer you like then select a song. You'll see the lyrics appear beside the song. Great way to improve your language skills. Via Nik Peachey

Robin Good: By leveraging the Google Translator Toolkit, YouTube has made it now extremely easy for anyone to generate caption text for any video and to then translate it in any of the 300 world languages supported by YouTube.
Here's how to do it: "You’ll first need a caption track for your video, so if you don’t yet have one you can learn how to make one here. Select “Request translation” in the YouTube Video Manager, choose the languages you’d like to translate into, and click “Next.” We’ll create caption translation documents that you can now invite anyone to help translate, or you can translate yourself. To translate the captions yourself, select the language, and it’ll open up the caption translation document in the Google Translator Toolkit editor to help your translate faster."
"For several languages we’ll provide first draft of the translation using Google’s machine translation technology. We’ll also provide preview of what the translated caption looks like on the video so you can make sure the translated captions fit.

Click “Publish to YouTube” when you’re finished, and we’ll publish the translated caption back to your YouTube video. If you’re not the video owner, we’ll notify the owner via email that there’s a pending translation waiting to be approved and published."

VideoNotes est un tout nouveau service web assez sympathique et qui devrait finalement intéresser tous les chercheurs, tous les étudiants et plus globalement tous ceux qui ont déjà éprouvé le besoin d’annoter… une vidéo. Okay, ce n’est pas forcément un besoin courant, mais cela peut tout-de-même s’avérer très pratique dans certains cas, comme lorsqu’on bosse à plusieurs sur une création ou même sur le sous-titrage d’une oeuvre. Quoi qu’il en soit, VideoNotes ne manque vraiment pas d’intérêt et il est donc parfaitement possible que ce dernier vienne trouver sa place dans vos précieux favoris. Via Frédéric DEBAILLEUL

Bon projet quoique...complexe si lien ent tablett, dimension collaborative, usages des logiciels comics life + retouche imag... pb de temps / gestion /stress/complexité/ prise de risque faut de maturité des outils entre-eux....

So I created one for the elearning showcase in Wellington on the 21st February. It was pretty easy and look forward to sharing on twitter and taking and sharing photos during the event. Only draw back is the Americanisation of the date. I like the fact I can have all of my events on the app and can share via social media during them. It's a great tool and really easy to use. Très simple à utiliser pour les googleheads - il faut être sur Chrome avec un gmail et G-Drive.
On rajoute le plug-in depuis le Chrome Web Store, et ensuite on peut ouvrir un document en mode Commentaires vocaux, ce qui permet de surligner une partie du texte et enregistrer de l'audio.
Si on partage le document, un lien vers chaque piste audio apparaît sous le menu commentaires. Pour les apprenants de langue, un enseignant peut donner la pronunciation d'un mot, par exemple, ou proposer un retour à l'oral plutôt qu'écrit.
On peut imaginer d'autres activitiés collaboratives du moment que les apprenants installent le même plug-in sur leur machine.
