Alternative Mindmapping Apps

Alternative Mindmapping Apps | Web tools to support inquiry based learning | Scoop.it

Mind Mapping is one of those skills that students can really benefit from, whether it is just to organise what they need to know, showing what they already know or even scaffolding a piece of writing. I love the ease of mind mapping on the iPad especially those apps that allow you to go back and modify or enhance an existing mind map.

Karen Bonanno's insight:

A good range of free and priced apps.

Web tools to support inquiry-based learning

Inquiry-based learning is an active learning process, based on identifying relevant questions to research so that the student can develop knowledge about or create solutions to issues and problems.

Web tools allow students to engage in collaborative and interactive learning. All phases of inquiry learning can be adequately addressed through a wide variety of web-based tools and applications.

Karen Bonanno's insight:

A growing list of web tools that teachers can use to engage students in an inquiry based learning project or to provide access to a rich information resource environment.

Ways to Use Video Conferencing in the Classroom - Teachers With Apps | Web tools to support inquiry based learning | Scoop.it

Video conferencing is a wonderful technology that has helped change the way both business and personal communication is conducted. Seven Web-based Tools for Delivering Flipped Lessons

Seven Web-based Tools for Delivering Flipped Lessons | Web tools to support inquiry based learning | Scoop.it

My favorite tools for creating flipped lessons include the option to insert questions for students to answer while watching the video instead of waiting until the end to answer a series of questions. I also like tools that provide students with the opportunity to submit questions to their teachers while they are watching videos. These tools offer those options.

Even if you think the buzz around "learning how to code" is overkill, you have to admit it's here to stay.
