Looks like a good idea. Especially since you become the owner of the work and it is not stored on a third party site...

Vicki Mast's curator insight, September 13, 2013 11:24 AM

I just downloaded the free version which looks good, but may have to upgrade. The features look well worth the $3.99 price. You can move & resize your drawn objects, zoom in/out, etc. If you're working on creating "flipped classroom" videos, or how-to tutorials this may be what you need. Check out their website and user guide for the details.

Web tools to support inquiry-based learning

Inquiry-based learning is an active learning process, based on identifying relevant questions to research so that the student can develop knowledge about or create solutions to issues and problems.

Web tools allow students to engage in collaborative and interactive learning. All phases of inquiry learning can be adequately addressed through a wide variety of web-based tools and applications.

Karen Bonanno's insight:

A growing list of web tools that teachers can use to engage students in an inquiry based learning project or to provide access to a rich information resource environment.

Here's How Gamer-Teachers Use Video Games In The Classroom

Here's How Gamer-Teachers Use Video Games In The Classroom | Web tools to support inquiry based learning | Scoop.it
Games are being used much more widely in schools than they were when I first started writing about them 2 or 3 years ago. As of fall 2013, 74% of K-8 teachers were using digital games. 55% of these teachers have students playing digital games at least weekly, 9% daily. The games they are using are mostly designed to be educational, with only 5% playing commercial games, and 8% playing hybrids (commercial games adapted for education like MincraftEDU or SimCityEdu).

These insights come from Joan Ganz Cooney Center at the Sesame Workshop, who recently released a study surveying K-8 teachers in order to understand how they are implementing digital games in their classrooms.

Bloom's Taxonomy Tools is a Google document created by NJ superintendent Scott Rocco and it features a list of 89 web tools and mobile apps that correspond with every thinking level of Bloom's taxonomy. This work is a collective effort from different teachers and educators who have come together and crowdsourced ideas and tools to help teachers make the best of  Bloom's digital taxonomy in their instruction. As you can see below, the document features five columns: one for the name of the app, the other specifies the level of Bloom's taxonomy the app addresses, the third column is for links of the apps, the fourth  is on what the app does and the last one captures some ideas on how the app can be used. I invite you to have a look and contribute with an app or tool to the list. Enjoy
