Strategies To Promote Critical Thinking in the Elementary Classroom

Strategies To Promote Critical Thinking in the Elementary Classroom | Web Site of the Week - 3.0 - SD#60 - PRN | Scoop.it

Muy importante siempre promover el pensamiento crítico

enrique rubio royo's curator insight, June 16, 2014 6:26 AM

Michel J. Boustani's curator insight, June 16, 2014 8:17 AM

Students (future adults) need to learn what is and how to critical thinking from their own discoveries. SO that they will earn the freedom of critical thinking in their own time, from their own realities... I like this paper, the subject is an endless work in progress for a better social collective and individual well being!

Great stuff that every teacher should know about.

María Dolores Díaz Noguera's curator insight, January 2, 2014 4:56 PM

Amazing

Alfredo Corell's curator insight, January 6, 2014 6:01 PM

Teachers can start using Hangouts simply by setting up a Google+ page and signing up for the Hangout feature. They can conduct virtual classrooms at a number of places; it allows a teacher to teach up to 10 classrooms at the same time. It makes classes interactive and students can ask questions whenever they want. They can use it to connect their classroom with other classrooms or to connect their students with experts across the world, providing them with connected learning experiences. There are many ways in which teachers and students can derive benefits from using Hangouts in the classroom.

What if education was rooted in diversity instead of conformity? Robinson frequently says education needs to be personal precisely so students can find their talents and passions.

The whimsical, creative visualizations in this video will make you imagine what our schools—and world—would be like if that diverse approach to education actually happened.

Sue Gaardboe's curator insight, August 10, 2014 5:46 AM

This made me think about not just how we as teachers feel about technology use in schools, but also, how do our students feel about it? We know many of them know more about how to use the technology than we do, so are we involving them in the decisions we make about use and purchase of technology...or are we doing what we've always done and assumed we know better than they do?

There are pockets of teachers who do see how important this is. I can understand the pressure of teaching to the test though. Senior management in schools need to take responsibility to make this change. Teachers don't understand the social networking tool so difficult to teach....that's what I'm here/there for :)
