Apple shouldn't be judged too harshly for its differential privacy imperfections. Google one is also questionable.

Facebook and Microsoft have made no public efforts to implement differential privacy, despite Microsoft researchers inventing it over a decade ago.

And, if Apple's data sharing protections are too lax or opaque for your liking, you can always stop sharing yours.
