Everyday new websites are getting published with rich and distinctive contents to attract the visitors and to sell business products online. Various web-designs are created for completing the cycles of perfect web development and converting PSD format to HTML is one of them. It’s one of most fundamental task for a web developer to put their effort into use.
Web Designers are highly profited by using Adobe Photoshop. When you developing CSS for your website you will normally create your CSS in a way that makes it easier to read. This means each property will be on it's own line, you will have line breaks in-between classes and id's, you should even have comments between different sections of your styles.
This is great for developing as it keeps your styles organised, makes it easy for you to find styles, and has comments to explain what the styles are going to do. But the problem with this is that it will increase the size of the CSS file, when you use this on your website in a production environment it's important that your website loads fast. A good way of helping your website load faster is to minimize your CSS and Javascript files, this is because it will reduce the bandwidth needed for the file and will speed up your site.
It's easy to minimize your files you can either use a script to do this or make your IDE minimize your files.
But if all you have is the minimized file and you want to make some changes to this file it can be really hard to work out where your styles are, you need to un-minimize the file so you can see the styles in a readable way.
Here is a tool called CSS Beautifier which will allow you to enter minimized CSS and it will convert this into readable CSS for you. So if you only have the minimized file you can copy this into the tool and it will convert the entire contents to readable CSS.

Wireframing tools are commonly used by many designers, developers and project managers to visualize application flow and sitemaps. While it is hard for a team or clients to understand the written description of the look and feel of the website or application, wireframing tools make it easy for the team and the clients to imagine what the structure of the website or application should look like. The prototyping process should be fast and does not take away much time from the project, because it can be edited and modified many times until reaching the final project structure. Therefore, many designers and developers look for free wireframing tools and online mockup tools to be able to create a project wireframe quickly and share it with the client or the rest of the team. If you work as a freelance web designer or developer, you probably rely on a number of applications to perform daily tasks. From crafting code and pushing pixels to productivity and business management, it’s usually safe to say, “There’s an app for that.”
Shiny new apps are popping up more than ever. You are well familiar with the routine: a hot new URL sporting early beta invites buzzes its way across Twitter, picks up a handful of users and eventually falls off the map, never to be heard of again. This pattern is particularly strong for productivity apps (a.k.a. “getting things done” apps) and web development tools.
Don’t get me wrong: some of these little gems find success in segments of the market. They add to a vast reservoir of quality solutions that can be found for every task. With so many apps to choose from, how does one decide which to try and which to ignore?
In this article I will highlight a few apps that I’ve relied on heavily over the course of my career as a freelance web designer.

Flat trend is a clean and minimal design process where the drop shadows, gradients and / or skeuomorphic designs are being avoided. It’s focused to deliver better content to the user, featuring flat colors and flat illustrations. Its amazing popularity is given by the release of Windows 8 which came along with a new design style.
Websites using minimal design elements may produce a great impact from the customers points of view. They’ll find that the services provided are easy to understand and use like the website design. Focus on simplicity when designing UI elements and also make sure the typography draws user attention.
Beware not to overuse this approach in your future website design projects. First thing first read carefully the project requirements and if it suits the flat design concept give it a try.
Below it’s a showcase of 25 Examples of Flat Web Design that provides a better understanding of this concept. Get inspired and if it’s best for your projects use it.

One principle of object oriented design that I’ve been wanting to talk about is the single responsibility principle. It’s not an isolated principle, but rather one of five principles grouped under the acronym SOLID. Together these principles aim to help developers create systems that are maintainable and extendable.
Let’s continue what we started last week and again look to object oriented concepts to see if and how we might apply them to the design of websites. In this post we’ll take a look at the first two SOLID principles and next week we’ll continue with the remaining three principles.
Once again allow me to remind you I’m hardly an object oriented programmer and I’m bound to get a few things wrong in this discussion. Fortunately for me others have previously covered this topic in a similar fashion and I’ll be leaning heavily on their work.

Adobe first launched Creative Suite 1 back in 2003, and now, ten years and six versions later, the company is taking a left turn: Adobe is abandoning its Creative Suite entirely to focus efforts on Creative Cloud.
There will be backlash for this, no doubt. Update: Fireworks has been killed off.
Adobe targets the same Pro and Pro-sumer community that Apple had the misfortune of knowing when it redesigned Final Cut Pro. Adobe’s decision to solely embrace a subscription offering could lead to mass protest if not handled correctly.
But before grabbing your torch, let us explain what, exactly, is happening — then we’ll get into why.

Ever wondered how many tweeters reside in a certain country? Or how often a residents tweet? Well look no further. Tweetmap by Pete Smart and Rob Hawkes represents countries in the world proportionally based on numbers of tweets.
“Tweetmap brings together lots of clever technologies, including TopoJSON, D3.js, Node.js, PhantomJS, and an algorithm to construct contiguous cartograms in real-time," Hawkes explains. "We chose Node.js to power the server side of things as it’s quick, flexible and we already had experience using it to scrape tweets.

There are so many great resources available to designers that help inspire and improve efficiency, but often, color inspiration and color search abilities are overlooked in web design resources. After all, it’s often just important to find an image, gradient, or palette as it is to find one with the right subject.
What’s more, color can be one of the elements that designers forget to focus on, in favor of the typography, layout, or imagery. And yet a gorgeous color palette can make the difference between a bland and a strikingly original design.
So if you find yourself in need of a color inspiration boost, not only will this roundup of great sites provide you with all the palettes and images you could ever wish to see, they’re also great resources for manipulating, creating, and sharing color.

When was the last time you tried to find a government form on the Internet? For me, it was a few months back, trying to track down an absentee ballot. And while I love American flag GIFs as much as the next patriot, I was amazed at the labyrinth of independent sites I had to visit before I found what I was looking for. Bringing the web presence of an entire government under one roof is a Sisyphean task, and the UK is one of the only countries that's managed to do it, with Gov.uk, a one-stop-web-shop that launched earlier this year.

Responsive design is the hot topic for 2013. We’ve moved beyond mobile and finally reached the point where companies are accepting the fact that the best ROI comes from fully integrated marketing programs. It’s hard to fully integrate when your website is a convoluted mess of versions for different devices or worse, a single version that renders poorly on different devices.
The case for responsive design has been made clear, and responsive web design even made it onto the ecommerce marketing checklist for 2013. However, companies are still slow to invest the time and money into the development required to turn their antiquated websites into responsive websites that render perfectly no matter what device a person is using.
Now is the time to prioritize responsive design in your budget. To learn why, I spoke with Jody Resnick, CEO of Trighton Interactive, a full-service digital agency that focuses heavily on responsive web design.
Resnick explains, “With a responsive website, businesses can be in front of consumers at every step of their online journey. People who search for a business’ site, begin reading content and viewing videos from their desktop computers at work, and then look for the same business on their smartphones during lunch are able to continue their research into products and services uninterrupted.
“In contrast, if the business has a traditional website and a mobile site, someone investigating products and services online can become frustrated by the lack of complete content on the mobile site or the inability to navigate through the full site on her smartphone. She might give up the search altogether,” Resnick warns.
“Responsive websites provide continuity between different viewing contexts, remaining completely agnostic to the type of device used and the size of the screen it has. What this means is that the same website will present an optimized layout regardless of which device it finds itself being loaded in.”
