30+ Brilliant Examples of Photo Manipulation Art

30+ Brilliant Examples of Photo Manipulation Art | Web Designing Pictomedia | Scoop.it

Photo manipulation (also called photo shopping) is the presentation of image editing methods to photographs in order to produce an illusion or deception (in contrast to just enhancement or improvement) after the original photographing took place.

Afore computers, photo manipulation was attained by retouching with ink, shade, double-contact, piecing photos or negatives organized in the darkroom, or rubbing Polaroid’s. Air-brushes were also utilized, whence the term “air-brushing” for influence. Darkroom manipulations are occasionally regarded as outdated art rather than job related talent. In the early days of photography, the usage of technology was not as progressive and effective as it is now. Results are comparable to digital manipulation but they are tougher to create.

Photo manipulation is perhaps one of the most prevalent application areas in which Adobe Photoshop is used widely. One of the key reasons for that is its capability to blend actual photos with vivacious colors and digital painting to highlight some beautiful details which makes this software perfect for this kind of work. Here are 45 unbelievable examples of Photo manipulated images and I hope you will enjoy this.

5 Design Mistakes That Interfere With Your Online Usability

5 Design Mistakes That Interfere With Your Online Usability | Web Designing Pictomedia | Scoop.it

Good usability – what does that even mean? The term has been around for quite a while now; long enough anyways to have gained some serious popularity. In a previous article we even argued that “usability has become a commodity and is no longer a distinctive feature”. That is because people have long gotten used to certain design standards.

Usability is “the extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction in a specified context of use.”

In other words, good usability implies that users can easily use a product and by doing so, reach their goals quickly and without falling into despair. Design is the tool that you need to build websites with good usability.

Here are 5 critical design mistakes that affect the usability and therefore get in the way of your user experience.

Absolutely – building websites with at least some knowledge of HTML is far more productive than simply drawing them with Photoshop. While web-designers who know how to code still often end up sending their PSDs to the “real” developers, the truth is that most award-winning websites are designed by code-savvy web designers. You wonder why?

40 Stunning Website Designs with Great Color Schemes

40 Stunning Website Designs with Great Color Schemes | Web Designing Pictomedia | Scoop.it

Selecting a color scheme for a given website design project is not always easy. Sometimes the product or service will help to determine the base or main color, but where to go from there is usually a matter for the designer's imagination and inspiration.

There are sites that offer huge selections of color combinations where you can search for a specific color or just browse by categories such as newest, most popular, etc., but sometimes there is just no substitute for browsing other sites for inspiration, where designers have used color schemes that, as a palette may not be obvious bed-mates. In this round up we have selected 40 sites that have some outstanding and/or unusual color combinations, and where the designers have applied a great deal of creativity.

Fast forward a couple years, polish the idea and keep in mind that the “less is more” concept also works for parallax, and you have websites with elegant scrolling effects – like the ones we’ve rounded up for this post.

"3-Sweep" Software Can Extract 3D Objects Out of a Single Photo

"3-Sweep" Software Can Extract 3D Objects Out of a Single Photo | Web Designing Pictomedia | Scoop.it

SIGGRAPH is often a play space for new imaging software, where academics get a chance to show off the weird and wonderful software they've been working on for years. As SIGGRAPH Asia 2013 this November, one group wants to demo a piece of software that can take a single image, and generate a 3D object out of something in it.

Dubbed 3-Sweep, it relies on a user making three quick selections around the object in order to interpret the size and shape. From there, it can be rotated in three dimensions, edited, moved into other photos, and more. It allows real world objects to be resized and tweaked for digital use, and easily manipulated.
