Three reasons why the Semantic Web has failed

Three reasons why the Semantic Web has failed | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it
The focus on the semantic web was fun, but ultimately missed the big picture, which is people care not about knowledge graphs but about the people and current events happening in their social graphs.
Pierre Tran's insight:

Interesting point of view. Declaring the failure of semantic web is easy. Declaring the end of the document is interesting.

I agree that we entering in a new era where dialogues and messages (in place and in time) are more relevant that documents.

Pierre Tran's insight:

| Web 3.0 | Scoop.it

The truly dangerous AI gap is the political one

The truly dangerous AI gap is the political one | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it
The main short term danger from AI isn’t how good it is, or who’s using it, but who isn’t: governments.

This impacts every aspect of our interaction with the State, beginning with the ludicrous way in which we have to move papers around (at best, digitally) to tell one part of the government something another part of the government already knows. Companies like Amazon, Google, or Facebook are built upon the opposite principle. Every part of them knows everything any part of the company knows about you (or at least it behaves that way, even if in practice there are still plenty of awkward silos).

Twelve Critical Skills for the Future

Equally as important as our Dunbar number or the place we call an office are the rules we live by. We currently have very few rules for how to live our lives in a fully immersive world where explosive amounts of information and technology are flowing around us on a second by second basis.

Since neither colleges nor traditional schools have come to grips with the unusual number of challenges lurking, like landmines, in the world ahead, it is up to us to master the “new rules of engagement.”
