"A mesure que se perfectionnent les systèmes d’intelligence artificielle, des machines sont capables de structurer des reporting à partir de documents qu’elles ont scannés, détecter des anomalies et incohérences ou même assister des médecins dans leur diagnostics de maladies graves. Quand la marge d’erreur et d’autres paramètres comme le coût de production auront été maîtrisés, certaines professions intellectuelles risquent d’être profondément modifiées et demander des efforts de redéfinition de postes (notamment pour les professions réglementées), ainsi que des  modification des programmes scolaires."

"The censorship system's main goal is to prevent the internet from being used to co-ordinate or organise real-world political activity. In extreme cases, internet access may be cut off altogether, as happened for ten months in 2009, after riots in Xinjiang, a remote north-western region.

There is no doubt that microblogs such as Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, have given the public a new voice with which to demand more accountability from officials on issues such as corruption, food safety and air pollution. But so far the government has managed to prevent the internet being used to campaign for broader political change. Indeed, by providing people with an outlet to vent their concerns and giving the illusion of public debate, the internet may even be delaying the radical changes that China needs."

They’ve thrown their weight behind Code.org, a new nonprofit whose “learn to code” videos have gone viral. They say that coding, programming and computer science will be the language of the 21st century. “In a world that’s increasingly run on technology, computer science is a liberal art that every student should be exposed to, regardless of their path in life,” says Code.org’s Hadi Partovi."

Pigeons, Poussins : les réseaux sociaux chantent l'opposition aux projets de loi. Le monde change, les outils facilitent l'expression et aux décideurs de jongler entre pouvoir absolu et pouvoir de concertation... ou entre pression et concertation ? Ce qui est sûr, c'est que le citoyen informé et capable de s'organiser en réseau demande d'autres régimes. Le futur nous le dira... 

IN een overgereguleerde maatschappij wetten uitvaardigen die mensen gaat beperken daar waar hun passies liggen: kinderen, sporten, maatschappelijke evenementen, reizen lijkt me niet alleen leiden tot onuitvoerbare wetten en pogingen om de wet te overtreden zonder dat het zichtbaar is, maar ook een slechte zaak. Het enige dat echt gaat helpen, is een mentaliteits- en gedragsverandering - maar die zijn uiteraard veel moeilijker te bewerkstelligen. En toch is het de enige 'wet' die uitvoerbaar en wenselijk is.
