Why Is Facebook Blue? The Science Behind Colors In Marketing

Why Is Facebook Blue? The Science Behind Colors In Marketing | Web 2.0 and Social Media | Scoop.it

There are some amazing examples of how colors actually affect our purchasing decisions. After all, sight is the strongest developed sense in most human beings. It’s only natural that 90% of an assessment for trying out a product is made by color alone.

So how do colors really affect us, and what is the science of colors in marketing, really? As we strive to make improvements to online products, studying this phenomenon is key. Find some of the latest, most interesting research on the subject at the article link...

Unfortunately we find that what happens the most, especially in schools is that educators and administrators tend to shy away from this responsibility and limit their teaching to the way they have been taught, thus excluding all the elements that are now pronouncing us as digital citizens in a society.
Sieg Holle's curator insight, May 10, 2013 12:15 PM

In the digital world we are human beings -free of the  many artificial restrictions and other special interest agendas and use our free will to engage our ideas and actions. It is natural - people can chose who they want to communicate with  It is a positive MOOC of that will expand the world into a new age of freedom and abundance .

Social Influencers: Digital Marketing’s Most Overlooked Resource

Social Influencers: Digital Marketing’s Most Overlooked Resource | Web 2.0 and Social Media | Scoop.it

It is hard to believe that in a digital world where people are so connected, it still seems to be completely difficult for businesses to use that to their advantage to more efficiently maximize their ROI. Companies continue to spend on banner ads instead of on the people who can really make a difference in the way people purchase.

This infographic should help researchers and advertisers see what great potential there is in the power of social media and general online influence. Bloggers, tweeters, and Facebook champions really can be wise investments; read more at the article link.

Let the clients know what they're missing out on. You can also get their attention by showing them the data on Facebook's exponential user growth and the mind-blowing predictions of continued growth. 5 must-see social media infographics | Web 2.0 and Social Media | Scoop.it

A picture is worth a thousand words, but what happens when you combine the two? Though the concept of data visualization is nothing new, the prominence of blogs and image-led social media platforms like Pinterest has truly proven that sometimes the designer’s stylus is mightier than the pen.

As we grow increasingly accustomed to bright, colourful and bite-sized visualisations of what once was presented in dense statistics and complex data, finding the best, most-useful infographics has become something of a task.

We thought we'd save you some time by presenting you with a short list of our favourite social media infographics. Enjoy!

It gives numerous rules of social media that can be applied on a day to day basis. This ones a bit jam packed and I can't read a thing on the bottom so that's a negative. From a quick comparison of these two lists it may well look like the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages, but those disadvantages are BIG, especially the cost. If you are thinking of introducing iPads in your school, then I think by far the best way to start is just by having a few in the teachers’ staff room and letting the teachers explore them and see what they can do with them. If this can generate some enthusiasm then you could be on your way to having a 21st century language school.
