The Evolving Communal Mind by Martha Love | We may hear some people complain that our propensity toward using social networking and cell phones, particularly when we are in a public or social situation, are signs that we modern humans are a bunch of disassociated people who don’t know how to sit in the same room together and relate to each other anymore.

Today's guest post focuses on Life’s Lessons by Rosemary “Mamie” Adkins| What is the purpose of life if not for the love of our children and how we prepare them to become strong, positive role models for the next generations to come? Isn’t it our inherent responsibility to shape the hearts and minds of our little ones to ensure that the mark we leave on them will pass solid values onto their own children?

On the Write Room Blog God Hates a Coward by R.L. Cherry | …I have oft enjoyed the board game Risk. ...to win you must eliminate all of your opponents…. Often there is a point where you must decide to risk either wiping out another player…or weakening yourself so much that another player will be able to easily destroy you. If you act too soon…you will fail and lose. If you hesitate too long, you…again lose. It is a matter of wisely assessing the options then taking an educated gamble. However. . .

If my Mom could tell you about her world.

In my world everything stays the same
I see your face but cannot recall your name
You have been in my life for many years
But, when you look at me why so many tears?

I am still here and I am glad you came to see me
Don’t worry about what I say or do I can’t help it you see
My world stays the same and the days run into each other you know
I get up and they feed me and then I watch television with the aides but their favorite show...

Sharla Shults's insight:

There is no cure at this time for the deadly Alzheimer’s disease. The care of those with Alzheimer’s takes patience, kindness and understanding. There is no way to know on any given day whether the person afflicted the deadly Alzheimer’s will look at a family member, relative or friend and even know who they are or why they are around. Their world as they once knew it no longer exists.

The Quality of Mercy by D. M. Pirrone | “It wasn’t supposed to be this way,” Sarah said. The breeze that ruffled her hair smelled of lilacs and cut grass. The gardeners must have gotten here early. A flicker of movement from the same spot caught her eye—hold your horses, she thought—but mostly she ignored it.

Crossing the lines of culture – My experience in Iran by Lori Foroozandeh | If you write a book about something that is little known, you have to be prepared for questions. Some will be silly and trivial, some will be deeper: but there will be questions. I wrote about Iran. Immediately I learned that many Americans know little about that country and its culture. Many of the questions I have been asked have been about the women of Iran. They seem so different from the women of America, so different and so very hard to comprehend.

My Fairest Cape by Maggie Tideswell | South Africa’s ‘Mother City’ was described by Sir Francis Drake as ‘the fairest Cape in all the circumference of the earth’. Dominated by Table Mountain, the tip of South Africa has attracted seafarers since the 16th century and is today one of the top tourist destinations.

Since the arrival of the first colonists in 1652 with Jan van Riebeeck, the Cape has had its fair share of miscreants, crimes and wrongful deaths. It is small wonder that many hauntings have been reported over the years. As I am a paranormal romance writer, these unexplained events are of great interest.

Their attraction was electric. Their affair explosive. And their love devastating to those around them.
Despite being happily married, Taylor Allen found herself deeply attracted to singing legend and eligible bachelor Larry Davis. But, it remained a simple infatuation until she finds herself in the front row, center seat, at one of his most anticipated concerts.
