11 Reasons Dehydration Is Making You Sick & Fat

11 Reasons Dehydration Is Making You Sick & Fat | Water for your great health. | Scoop.it
There’s a lot of talk about water these days, and ultimately the question everyone wants answered is, how much do you need? The truth is, that number is entirely dependent on the person asking – their lifestyle, activity levels, eating habits, and even climate. The best way to figure out what you need is by paying […]
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that your body and brain are composed of 70-90% water? Your body requires air water, and food to survive. When you become dehydrated, your brain shrinks and your mood is also affected as you become sleepy and lethargic.

Water is the very best beverage you can drink for your health. Today there's scientific evidence suggesting that not drinking enough water maybe associated with health problems, according to Dr Michael Greger in his newest book, "How Not to Die".

Not drinking enough water each day may cause you to experience  some of these health issues: "falls and fractures, bladder and colon cancer, urinary tract infections, constipation, dry-eye disease, cavities, decreased immune function, and cataract formation". Dr Michael Greger.

Dr Greger says that low water intake is also associated with several unhealthy behaviors, including low veggie and fruit intake, more fast food consumption, and less shopping at Farmer's Markets. People who exercise a lot and eat more produce also drink more water and have less incidence of health problems. Makes perfect sense.

Filtered and/or pure water is best nowadays as most municipal water systems and infrastructure (tap water) hasn't been repaired or updated in many years. This subscriber recommends Multipure water filtration systems as Multipure is certified by NSF, the leader in certification standards. Multipure created carbon block technology and is recommended by Environmental working Group (EWG) and Consumer Reports.

Avoid bottled water as it's been shown to be nothing less than tap water. What the planet doesn't right now is more plastic clogging our oceans and killing marine life.

Health Tips:  Drink filtered water throughout your day and eat juicy fruits and water rich veggies, including celery, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, and jicama among others. You can add some frozen grapes or berries to give your water a fruity splash. Or add some grated ginger, a cinnamon stick, lavender, mint leaves, or other herbal favorites.

Alkaline Water: Benefits and 3 Easy Recipes

Alkaline Water: Benefits and 3 Easy Recipes | Water for your great health. | Scoop.it
Alkaline water has a lot of health benefits - learn how to easily make it at home
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that water is the lifeblood for your body and brain? Your brain is 80% water. Hydration is critical to your brain's health. Anything that dehydrates it, such as coffee or alcohol, decreases your thinking and causes you to make unsound decisions.

Make sure you get plenty of pure spring or filtered water everyday. Avoid liquid calories as in sodas, energy drinks, and store bought fruit smoothies. Proper hydration  is as important to good nutrition as is eating healthy food. If you find your fatigued mid afternoon, it could be your body is thirsty for water.

Dehydration makes your skin look older and more wrinkled. Water cleanses your body of toxins. Drink your clean water in clean containers - glass and stainless steel.

Health tips:  Drink your pure or filtered water with lemon, frozen fruit (berries, cucumber), or a few drops of liquid organic Stevia, or plain. Drink one or two glasses of clean water in the morning when you wake in place of your morning coffee. The water in your coffee isn't the water your body requires. If you must, drink your coffee later in the morning. Sip throughout your day.

Multipure Water filtration certified by NSF is recommended.

Guess Which Bottled Water is the Safest? The Answer May Shock you!

Guess Which Bottled Water is the Safest? The Answer May Shock you! | Water for your great health. | Scoop.it
Bottled water has a “healthy,” “pure” image but this is not the reality...
Sandi Cornez's insight:

"Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink". From a long ago memorized poem by Samuel taylor Coleridge seems to sum up the   situation in today's world. Water used to be pure, not so anymore in many parts of the world including the U.S.

Are you drinking tap water from public municipalities without a water filter or whole house filtration?  Maybe you might consider upgrading to filtration as most tap water is toxic from pharmaceutical drug contents, contaminants including disinfection byproducts or gasoline additives, contaminants that can get  into water sources through pollution or leaks, chemicals like mercury and chlorine, pesticides, and in some places fluoride (a proven neurotoxin) and unknown substances due to Fracking.. Do your own due diligence and find out the truth your water company may not be telling you.

So you're drinking bottled water? Think again, not only is bottled water an ecological disaster, but the water is guess what? Wow, you guessed right - it's tap water. You're waking up finally. Of course if you listen to the drivel from bottled water manufacturers, you'd think you were drinking from a pristine spring.

Health tips:  All kidding aside, water is one of our basic necessities as is food and air.  When all three are tinkered with, your health suffers. Do your part to protect yourself and the health of your family.

There are many water filters on the market. find one that works for you and your water situation. Check to make sure the filter you choose has been certified by NSF, the certification agency. Multipure is one such Company with Guaranteed Performance.

Sandi Cornez's insight:

Fluoride is a well-known neurotoxin which is routinely added to community based water treatment plants and  added to toothpaste. This is insane as the health of people and young children is at stake.

Now a new study from Harvard School of Public health and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai say that fluoridated water in addition to environmental toxins is contributing to a "silent epidemic" of autism and  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD) which mainstream media is ignoring.

The study says numerous chemicals are to blame, many of which have not been tested or just approved by the FDA, USDA, and CDC without knowing their long-term ramifications. (sound familiar?)

Are you aware that fluoride and other toxins accumulate in the bloodstream and even cross the blood-brain barrier?

Health Tip: Use an NSF International Certified tested water filtration system such as Multipure with its carbon block technology to remove Volatile organic contaminants, and other contaminants or drink distilled water. Do not drink tap water for best results.

Viral Alternative News: 11 Reasons Dehydration Is Making You Sick And Fat | Water for your great health. | Scoop.it
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know your body and brain are mainly composed of life-giving water? Your body starts to become dehydrated way before you start to feel thirsty. Even slight dehydration caused by inadequate fluid intake and massive water loss can disrupt important cell functions.

Part of the problem is most people are more aware of becoming dehydrated in the warmer months while forgetting that in colder seasons, one can be dehydrated as well. Going from dry heated homes to outside colder air then reversing the process can cause dehydration as well as other health problems.

Researchers have found that the more water intake the less of a risk for cancers, and other health conditions such as headache, muscle aches, fatigue, constipation, heartburn, edema, and fluid retention.

You can always tell if you're dehydrated by your urine. Dark yellow color means you're dehydrated. If your skin starts flaking, your lips crack: these are signs your body needs water.

Health Tips:  Get in the habit of drinking water when you first awake. Sip about four ounces of filtered water and very soon your mouth will be very dry. Now you know your body has a need for water. Take another four ounces and repeat until you are no longer thirsty. Add up all the four ounce servings to discover your body's true metabolic need for water. then sip throughout your day.

Be sure to have access to clear clean water in your home. Choose Multipure water filtration certified by NSF for your kitchen, shower, or whole house. Multipure is recommended by Consumer Reports and EWG.

Pepsi has been forced to admit that their bottled water is nothing more than tap water.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that major corporations repeatedly disseminate false advertising which is detrimental for your health? Case in point Pepsi and its bottled water product Aquafina (tap water in disguise). Next up Coca-Cola and its product Dasani.

Isn't it time you the consumer woke up to the fact that certain major corporations are only interested in their bottom line, not in your health and well-being? You with your buying dollars can affect change on this planet.

Not only is tap water harmful for your health but, proven studies have shown level of contaminants from pharmaceutical drugs, chemicals, pollutants, bacteria, viruses, and other known toxins in tap water in the U.S. Is this what you want to be putting in your body on a daily basis?

And not only is this tap water harmful for your body/health, the plastic bottle which holds the tap water is a huge piece of the on going climate change issue. Plastic water bottles don't decompose. They just become smaller pieces of destruction harming marine life, coral reefs, and ultimately our oceans. So goes the ocean, so goes humanity.

Health Tips:  Carry glass bottles/stainless steel bottles filled with filtered water from reputable NSF certified companies such as Multipure, and or pure spring water from safe sites. Water is the lifeblood for your body. Keep your body healthier by giving it essential water from clean, safe sources.
