My Thoughts

This website creates an image and ideas about Washington State University. I chose this website because of all the information given. The campus life shows information about the student body, housing, activities you can do, all the sports people can play or try out for, and support services. It shows the school more into depth, the overall statistics and basic information of Washington State University. One nice thing about the website is that it shows every aspect of the college. The calendar type, which is by semesters, the student-faculty ratio is 15:1, all of the degrees that are offered and more. Everything is covered on this one website and it is a great site to help compare other colleges with. College Board helps students discover colleges and learn more about each college. It is constantly updated and is a very helpful resource. Throughout high school, this website has been very valuable to me for deciding my future college.

Housing and Residence Life - Housing

Housing and Residence Life - Housing | Washington State University | Scoop.it
Kiersten's insight:

My Thoughts

Washington State University has many different possibilities for housing and is a very diverse place. They have many housing choices on opposite ends of campus that fit every different kind of student. Housing can be a difficult to choose. It all depends on what types on things you do. Everyone can find the perfect home for themselves. There are dorms for girls only, guys only, co-ed, athletic, science majors, and many more. The newer dorms are gorgeous and I love that they have renovated many of the older ones. All the videos really help with deciding. I like that it gives a little tour of each dorm to give every person an idea of what it is like. Making the correct choice is really complex; it depends on what you like to do. The best place for people who love sports and like to work out would probably want to live on the North side of campus near all the sports. All of the renovated dorms like Gannon Goldsworthy and Community-Duncan Dun are both two newly renovated dorms which are both Co-ed dorms. I believe that they would be perfect places to live for first year students. Northside and Olympia are two fairly new dorms which I think was a good choice for them to build. Living on campus includes purchasing a meal plan; which that’s the only thing that is a pain. The money not spent on food just goes to waste and there are only 3 choices to choose from. The webpage layout and all the information on each dorm is very helpful to help with a housing decision. I chose this material because I think it is very important to know about a school before going. Also, choosing a place to live for a whole year can have quite an impact when deciding the best place for yourself.

I am really considering going to WSU after high school, so this is something important I would need to know for next year. I realized that as a freshman in college at WSU you have to live on campus in dorms, but not at all after the first year. I could be in a sorority, or live in dorms. But I havent decided yet what I would want to do.

My Thoughts

During 2012 the five most popular majors were:

1.Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services

                                                     17%

2.Social Sciences                     16%

3.Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs

                                                       9%

4.Engineering                              8%

5.Health Professions and Related Programs

                                                       8%

Business, Management, and Marketing are the most popular majors and a major I actually want to go into. I believe that Washington State University is a well-rounded school with numerous choices in majors. This article shows many aspects about Washington State University and the life of the students. Learning about the academic life and how many people can be in classes is very important to me. All of this is really valuable to me because this will prepare me for school and so I am able to know all the statistics of Washington State University and the percentages of class sizes. This article has many interesting facts about Washington State University and their community. I feel like this is valuable because of all of the information about Washington State University. Tuition can be very pricy but there are multiple ways to help pay for college. Washington State University has a way where you can work on campus to help pay. This article shows the financial aid statistics for the school and it is very helpful for knowing the percentage of people that receive aid. It also talks about the campus info and student services which can help with a decision of taking a car or not to college. Taking a car would be pointless because freshman year they give students a bus pass which is included in room and board. Paying for a car to sit in a garage would not make sense. Overall this article gives a general view of Washington State University and gives a good overview of the college.
