Report:Obama Is A Terrorist or Terrorist Sympathizer?

Your mouth will be hanging open by the end of this video! Copy before they pull it off line! Share and Like This! Spread the news like a Wild Fire!
littlebytesnews's insight:

According to the audio,  Obama's brother, Malik Obama, is a financial officer for the Muslim Brotherhood an Egyptian minister declares. This is why Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and why he supports funding/arming Al Quaeda/MB terrorists in Syria.

Obama is working in collaboration with terrorists, and was transferring weapons to terrorists through Benghazi. Morsi was involved in the plot and attack in Benghazi, Libya. This is why Obama won't investigate the Benghazi attack.

Malik Obama is a US resident but funds terrorism through the Muslim Brotherhood and was granted an illegal 501c3 through the IRS under Lois Lerner as documented by Walid Shoebat. Learn more at http://shoebat.com

Obama's grandmother Sarah Obama is using funding from Malik Obama to fund madrassas in Africa, as well as other terrorist activities.

The interview between Michael Savage and Walid Shoebat continues discussing the situation in Syria and the love of the people for Assad, who is fighting against Islamic terroism in Syria. In the meantime, Obama is continuing to fund and arm Al Qaeada terrorists in Syria, even while the US is under a shutdown due to the failure of the Senate to pass a balanced budget for five years and the failure of Obama to negotiate with Republicans in Congress.

Grant Judkins's comment, October 2, 2013 12:58 PM
That isn't good that all of those missiles are now in Al Qaeda's hands. 400 missiles is a lot of missiles. This is an interesting story.
Jerod Garland's curator insight, October 6, 2013 11:14 PM

I vote that we get those missiles back as soon as possible. We have them there for a reason--the country that they are currently placed in are placed there because the people there we misbehaving and causing trouble. I don't think that we were about to use them, but the people from the country might have other thoughts of what to do with them. 400 missiles is a lot of explosives and a lot of moneys worth, and could potentially cost the US a lot of innocent lives if we don't retreive them.

It would take at least 10 years to destroy Syria's CWs. | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
President Obama and his entourage insist that America's credibility to use force prompted the Russians to persuade Assad give up his chemical weapons to avert an American attack.

I am not a warmonger; I know the meaning of war, the death toll, the suffering, and the destruction of property along with the spirit of innocent men, women and children. That said, regardless of how appalling the use of force is to achieve any objective, there is a time when force must be used to prevent greater calamities.

For more than 30 months the Obama administration watched with equanimity the systematic slaughter of the Syrian people, who rose up only because they wanted to be free, enjoy basic human rights and have hope for a better future.

These are presumably the values that America stands for, and President Obama in his own words has reiterated time and again the right of every human being to live in dignity. America is committed to safeguarding these rights; as President Obama put it, "that's what makes America different. That's what makes us exceptional."

Yes, this is who we are, but then nearly 120,000 Syrians have been massacred, among them more than 20,000 children under the age of 15. If these children were alive and joined hands, they would form a line 10 miles long. They died helplessly and needlessly, not knowing if they have ever existed.

Throughout this merciless and dehumanizing war, the president has delved into back channel and open diplomatic efforts to stem the violence and oust President Assad from power. Yet 30 months later President Assad is still presiding over his killing machine and no concrete measures have been taken by the United States to precipitate his departure.

Other than humanitarian aid, the White House refused to provide the rebels with any weapons under the pretext that they may fall into the wrong hands. Had such weapons, however, been provided at an earlier stage to vetted rebel groups, including the Free Syrian Army, they could have changed the dynamic of the war in favor of the rebels.

Moreover, strengthening the hands of moderate rebel groups could have prevented Al Qaeda and other extremist Islamic elements from becoming a significant factor in the civil war and potentially exercising tremendous leverage in the country following the collapse of the Assad regime.

The White House's inaction and continued indecisiveness has further emboldened Assad to test American resolve by reportedly using chemical weapons at least eight times and blatantly crossing President Obama's so-called "red line" with impunity.

Reliable sources suggest that the president's national security team knew with certainty about the earlier use of chemical weapons but chose to continue to "investigate" to play for time, which led to more, larger scale chemical attacks.

The gruesome deaths of 1,423 people (including more than 400 children) resulting from the attack has finally forced the president to face the bitter reality.

I agree that the use of chemical weapons is heinous, incomparable in its horror and inhumanity to any other weapons, and must never be tolerated. But then, isn't it fair to argue that the U.S. could have prevented Assad not only from gassing his citizens but also from indiscriminately killing tens of thousands with conventional weapons?

Following weeks of deliberations, the president finally decided to take military action against some of Assad's military installations, only to vacillate and rescind his decision within hours and turn to Congress for authorization.

Weary of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is understandable that the majority of Americans and their representatives do not want to entangle the country in another war, particularly in the Middle East.

The administration failed to explain to the American public the glaring difference between taking limited military strikes against a tyrant to deter him from continuing to slaughter his people, and waging two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while occupying both countries with thousands of troops at a terrible cost in blood and treasure.

Many congressmen who refused to support the bill authorizing the president to use force have taken this position, not as much because they do not wish to punish Assad, but to express a vote of no confidence in the president.

Regardless of the president's intentions he appeared vacillating and unsure, raising serious questions in the minds of America's friends and allies about his leadership and the U.S.' credibility.

The Obama administration has failed time and again to draw attention to Russian President Putin's hypocrisy as the latter continued to directly interfere in Syria's civil war by openlysupplying Assad with military equipment to crush the rebels and on three occasions preventing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) from taking any punitive actions against Assad.

At the same time, he vehemently opposed any outside interference while reportedlycolluding with Iran and Hezbollah to aid Assad with munitions, arms and fighters on the ground to boost Assad's military capability.

Putin's latest gambit suggesting that the international community "must take advantage of the Syrian government's willingness to place its chemical arsenal under international control for subsequent destruction" is just another cynical move designed to buy more time and allow Assad to consolidate his gains against the rebels.

President Obama and his entourage insist that America's credibility to use force prompted the Russians to persuade Assad give up his chemical weapons to avert an American attack.

In truth, many keen observers who follow the grim political reality in connection with the Syrian crisis suggest that the president was only too eager to grab Putin's proposal, knowing full well that that he does not have congressional support to strike Syria.

Moreover, with the exception of France and Saudi Arabia, no other country has openly declared its willingness to join the U.S. in military strikes against Assad.

Putin's proposal is roundly hollow and warrants no serious consideration. To begin with, it would require the passage of a UNSC resolution that would compel Assad to surrender his stockpile under UN Chapter Seven (which authorizes sanctions and even the use of military force to enforce compliance).

If there is even a small chance for the Russian proposal to work, along with the passage of such a UNSC resolution it must include the following provisions: the departure of Assad along with his top military and internal security echelon, an immediate ceasefire to which all rebels and Assad's military must fully adhere, and a recall of all military personnel and equipment to their barracks under UN supervision, a deal which Russia is not likely to accept.

Second, many experts in the field of chemical weapons attest that even with the full cooperation of the Syrian government and under peaceful conditions, it would take months before these weapons are located and sorted out, and after that it would take at least ten years to destroy them.

Third, given the ongoing civil war and the inaccessibility of many locations, it might be impossible to complete such a task which requires hundreds of inspectors who are not readily available.

When asked if there is anything at this point that Assad's government could do to stop an American attack, Secretary Kerry replied, "Sure. He could turn over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the international community in the next week. Turn it over, all of it, without delay, and allow a full and total accounting for that. But he isn't about to do it, and it can't be done, obviously." [Emphasis added]

But let us assume that contrary to Kerry's skepticism, Assad will fully comply with his demands. Does that mean that Assad can continue to ravage the country and perhaps kill an additional 200,000 Syrians with conventional weapons on the altar of Russian treachery?

While seeking a political solution that must exclude Assad, President Obama must also be prepared to strike. The U.S. Congress has the responsibility to support the president in this case by rising up against tyranny and giving the Syrian people the chance to live free with dignity.

Yes, we must learn from the experiences of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, but we cannot be paralyzed by these experiences.

As witnessed in Libya, Egypt and now in Syria, the Arab Spring will be a long and cruel winter. Every Arab state will be affected by it. It has permanently changed the political landscape in the Middle East where the U.S. has huge economic, military and national security interests.

This calls on the U.S. to develop a new and comprehensive strategy that corresponds to the ever-changing conditions on the ground. Indeed, how the Syrian civil war ends and what role the U.S. plays in ending it will have far-reaching security ramifications on the U.S. and its allies.

The U.S. remains the only global power with the responsibility to act, preserve global stability and foster political and social values for the betterment of people everywhere.

The president of the United States is the face of America. He is expected to lead with courage and vision and stand by the values that made America what it is, while using his best judgment to act in line with the moral responsibility to which America is held.

President Obama is weighing a military strike against Syria that would be of limited scope and duration, designed to serve as punishment for Syria’s use of chemical weapons and as a deterrent, while keeping the United States out of deeper involvement in that country’s civil war, according to senior administration officials.

The timing of such an attack, which would probably last no more than two days and involve sea-launched cruise missiles — or, possibly, long-range bombers — striking military targets not directly related to Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal, would be dependent on three factors: completion of an intelligence report assessing Syrian government culpability in last week’s alleged chemical attack; ongoing consultation with allies and Congress; and determination of a justification under international law.

Remember Bashar the Reformer?

American officials who for ego or because of animosity toward George W. Bush did their best to end Assad’s isolation. It’s always fun to read their statements reporting Assad’s willingness to solve mutual problems.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.), who took time out to tour the markets to maximum benefit for Syrian state television.Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), more John Kerry, and even more John Kerry. That second story reminds how the Obama administration once went so far as to give Syria spare parts for its planes. The late Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Penn.), at the time still a Republican, might have acted as a tour guide: His trip with Nelson and Kerry was his 16th taxpayer-funded trip to Damascus, and it was not his last.Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may not have gone herself, but she used her senate colleagues’ experience meeting Assad to justify her description of him as a reformer. “There’s a different leader in Syria now,” she told CBS’s Face the Nation, explaining, “Many of the members of Congress of both parties who have gone to Syria in recent months have said they believe he’s a reformer.”Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) spent nearly $8,000 on two trips to Damascus, while Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) spent nearly twice that, according to Legistorm.Gen. David Petraeus repeatedly asked President George W. Bush for permission to go tête-à-tête with Assad in Damascus; let’s be glad Bush said no, both because it saved Petraeus the embarrassment and denied Assad a propaganda coup.

Perhaps in this age of budget-cutting, it would be useful to ask Pelosi, Kerry, and Nelson—all of whom still serve publicly—about what in hindsight they see as the value of their trips to Syria

Obama has watched for over 30 months the people of Syria being slaughtered.  Nearly 120,000 have been slaughtered in Syria, with more than 20,000 of them being children younger than age 15.  Obama consistently says that are all humans and we all deserve to have the same main rights and we need to step up to the plate and help those people.  throughout this merciless and dehumanizing war, the president has delved into back channel and open diplomatic efforts to stem the violence and oust President Assad from power. Yet 30 months later President Assad is still presiding over his killing machine and no concrete measures have been taken by the United States to precipitate his departure.  Since the White House has continuely to show indecisiveness which has boldened the Syrian Presidents actions the chemical weapons have been tested on eight different occassions and they blatantly crossed Obama's "red line."

Reliable sources suggest that the president's national security team knew with certainty about the earlier use of chemical weapons but chose to continue to "investigate" to play for time, which led to more, larger scale chemical attacks.  We gave Syria to many chances and all we did was let them tease us into an even further extension of the issue.

WH waiting on Moscow for next move after Putin's harsh op-ed | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
With the U.S. now waiting on Moscow to call the next move in the crisis, Putin took his case directly to the American people, saying a strike would only escalate the war in Syria and could potentially spread the conflict beyond its borders.
littlebytesnews's insight:

Looks like Putin is playing Obama and his admin for fools....

On the eve of an all-important pow-wow in Geneva, where Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart will talk over a plan for stripping Syria of chemical weapons, The New York Times published a stern, and at times standoffish op-ed from their brand new contributor: Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin is now fully invested in Syria’s CW (chemical weapons) disarmament,” a senior White House official told CNN's Jake Tapper, when asked to respond to Putin’s op-ed.

http://thelead.blogs.cnn.com/2013/09/11/white-house-responds-to-putins-nyt-op-ed/

Putin goes on to further criticize Obama for saying the US is exceptional, something Obama doesn't really believe based on his previous speeches where he tried to make the US as an equal power in the world:

In his final paragraph, Putin references President Barack Obama's speech on Syria Tuesday night, and slams the president’s assertion of American exceptionalism.

"I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States' policy is "what makes America different. It's what makes us exceptional." It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation," Putin wrote.

As Ben Shapiro points out:

On that, at least, Obama and Putin do agree, given the fact that Obama – before his current round of rah-rah speechifying -- once stated of American exceptionalism, “I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.”

Nonetheless, the op-ed was a slap in the face to the Obama administration, an open admission that Putin is trolling America’s foreign policy dundering. If that wasn’t enough, Putin made clear on Wednesday that the Russian government would do everything in its power to prop up its nuclear weapons-developing Islamist ally in Iran, with reports stating that Russia would sell Iran a new nuclear reactor, as well as anti-aircraft missiles. Meanwhile, Syria has renewed its military actions against the rebels.

Syrian rebels used Sarin nerve gas, not Assad’s regime: U.N. official

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

Full Text of Obama CYA Speech: 'Our Leadership is at Stake' | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
"Our ideals and principles, as well as our national security, are at stake in Syria," president tells nation.

This is the full text of US President Barack Obama's speech on Syria, as provided by the Federal News Service:

My fellow Americans, tonight I want to talk to you about Syria, why it matters and where we go from here. Over the past two years, what began as a series of peaceful protests against the repressive regime of Bashar al-Assad has turned into a brutal civil war. Over a hundred thousand people have been killed. Millions have fled the country. In that time, America has worked with allies to provide humanitarian support, to help the moderate opposition and to shape a political settlement.

But I have resisted calls for military action because we cannot resolve someone else's civil war through force, particularly after a decade of war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The situation profoundly changed, though, on Aug. 21st, when Assad's government gassed to death over a thousand people, including hundreds of children. The images from this massacre are sickening, men, women, children lying in rows, killed by poison gas, others foaming at the mouth, gasping for breath, a father clutching his dead children, imploring them to get up and walk. On that terrible night, the world saw in gruesome detail the terrible nature of chemical weapons and why the overwhelming majority of humanity has declared them off limits, a crime against humanity and a violation of the laws of war.

Historical background

This was not always the case. In World War I, American GIs were among the many thousands killed by deadly gas in the trenches of Europe. In World War II, the Nazis used gas to inflict the horror of the Holocaust. Because these weapons can kill on a mass scale, with no distinction between soldier and infant, the civilized world has spent a century working to ban them. And in 1997, the United States Senate overwhelmingly approved an international agreement prohibiting the use of chemical weapons, now joined by 189 governments that represent 98 percent of humanity.

On Aug. 21st, these basic rules were violated, along with our sense of common humanity.

No one disputes that chemical weapons were used in Syria. The world saw thousands of videos, cellphone pictures and social media accounts from the attack. And humanitarian organizations told stories of hospitals packed with people who had symptoms of poison gas.

Moreover, we know the Assad regime was responsible. In the days leading up to Aug. 21st, we know that Assad's chemical weapons personnel prepared for an attack near an area they where they mix sarin gas. They distributed gas masks to their troops. Then they fired rockets from a regime-controlled area into 11 neighborhoods that the regime has been trying to wipe clear of opposition forces.

Shortly after those rockets landed, the gas spread, and hospitals filled with the dying and the wounded. We know senior figures in Assad's military machine reviewed the results of the attack. And the regime increased their shelling of the same neighborhoods in the days that followed. We've also studied samples of blood and hair from people at the site that tested positive for sarin.

When dictators commit atrocities, they depend upon the world to look the other way until those horrifying pictures fade from memory. But these things happened. The facts cannot be denied.

The question now is what the United States of America and the international community is prepared to do about it, because what happened to those people, to those children, is not only a violation of international law, it's also a danger to our security.

Consequences of inaction

Let me explain why. If we fail to act, the Assad regime will see no reason to stop using chemical weapons.

As the ban against these weapons erodes, other tyrants will have no reason to think twice about acquiring poison gas and using them. Over time our troops would again face the prospect of chemical warfare on the battlefield, and it could be easier for terrorist organizations to obtain these weapons and to use them to attack civilians.

If fighting spills beyond Syria's borders, these weapons could threaten allies like Turkey, Jordan and Israel.

And a failure to stand against the use of chemical weapons would weaken prohibitions against other weapons of mass destruction and embolden Assad's ally, Iran, which must decide whether to ignore international law by building a nuclear weapon or to take a more peaceful path.

This is not a world we should accept. This is what's at stake. And that is why, after careful deliberation, I determined that it is in the national security interests of the United States to respond to the Assad regime's use of chemical weapons through a targeted military strike. The purpose of this strike would be to deter Assad from using chemical weapons, to degrade his regime's ability to use them and to make clear to the world that we will not tolerate their use. That's my judgment as commander in chief.

But I'm also the president of the world's oldest constitutional democracy. So even though I possessed the authority to order military strikes, I believed it was right, in the absence of a direct or imminent threat to our security, to take this debate to Congress. I believe our democracy is stronger when the president acts with the support of Congress, and I believe that America acts more effectively abroad when we stand together.

This is especially true after a decade that put more and more war-making power in the hands of the president, and more and more burdens on the shoulders of our troops, while sidelining the people's representatives from the critical decisions about when we use force.

A slippery slope?

Now, I know that after the terrible toll of Iraq and Afghanistan, the idea of any military action, no matter how limited, is not going to be popular. After all, I've spent four and a half years working to end wars, not to start them. Our troops are out of Iraq, our troops are coming home from Afghanistan, and I know Americans want all of us in Washington, especially me, to concentrate on the task of building our nation here at home, putting people back to work, educating our kids, growing our middle class. It's no wonder, then, that you're asking hard questions. So let me answer some of the most important questions that I've heard from members of Congress and that I've read in letters that you've sent to me.

First, many of you have asked: Won't this put us on a slippery slope to another war? One man wrote to me that we are still recovering from our involvement in Iraq. A veteran put it more bluntly: This nation is sick and tired of war.

My answer is simple. I will not put American boots on the ground in Syria. I will not pursue an open-ended action like Iraq or Afghanistan. I will not pursue a prolonged air campaign like Libya or Kosovo. This would be a targeted strike to achieve a clear objective: deterring the use of chemical weapons and degrading Assad's capabilities.

Others have asked whether it's worth acting if we don't take out Assad. As some members of Congress have said, there's no point in simply doing a pinprick strike in Syria.

Let me make something clear: The United States military doesn't do pinpricks.

Even a limited strike will send a message to Assad that no other nation can deliver. I don't think we should remove another dictator with force. We learned from Iraq that doing so makes us responsible for all that comes next. But a targeted strike can make Assad or any other dictator think twice before using chemical weapons.

Israel can defend itself

Other questions involve the dangers of retaliation. We don't dismiss any threats, but the Assad regime does not have the ability to seriously threaten our military. Any other — any other retaliation they might seek is in line with threats that we face every day. Neither Assad nor his allies have any interest in escalation that would lead to his demise. And our ally Israel can defend itself with overwhelming force, as well as the unshakable support of the United States of America.

Many of you have asked a broader question: Why should we get involved at all in a place that's so complicated and where, as one person wrote to me, those who come after Assad may be enemies of human rights? It's true that some of Assad's opponents are extremists. But al-Qaida will only draw strength in a more chaotic Syria if people there see the world doing nothing to prevent innocent civilians from being gassed to death. The majority of the Syrian people and the Syrian opposition we work with just want to live in peace, with dignity and freedom. And the day after any military action, we would redouble our efforts to achieve a political solution that strengthens those who reject the forces of tyranny and extremism.

Finally, many of you have asked, why not leave this to other countries or seek solutions short of force?

And several people wrote to me, we should not be the world's policeman. I agree. And I have a deeply held preference for peaceful solutions. Over the last two years my administration has tried diplomacy and sanctions, warnings and negotiations. But chemical weapons were still used by the Assad regime.

Encouraging signs

However, over the last few days we've seen some encouraging signs in part because of the credible threat of U.S. military action as well as constructive talks that I had with President Putin. The Russian government has indicated a willingness to join with the international community in pushing Assad to give up his chemical weapons. The Assad regime has now admitted that it has these weapons and even said they'd join the chemical weapons convention, which prohibits their use.

It's too early to tell whether this offer will succeed, and any agreement must verify that the Assad regime keeps its commitments. But this initiative has the potential to remove the threat of chemical weapons without the use of force, particularly because Russia is one of Assad's strongest allies.

I have therefore asked the leaders of Congress to postpone a vote to authorize the use of force while we pursue this diplomatic path. I'm sending Secretary of State John Kerry to meet his Russian counterpart on Thursday, and I will continue my own discussions with President Putin. I've spoken to the leaders of two of our closest allies, France and the United Kingdom. And we will work together in consultation with Russia and China to put forward a resolution at the U.N. Security Council requiring Assad to give up his chemical weapons and to ultimately destroy them under international control.

We'll also give U.N. inspectors the opportunity to report their findings about what happened on Aug. 21st. And we will continue to rally support from allies, from Europe to the Americas, from Asia to the Middle East who agree on the need for action.

Meanwhile, I've ordered our military to maintain their current posture, to keep the pressure on Assad and to be in a position to respond if diplomacy fails. And tonight I give thanks again to our military and their families for their incredible strength and sacrifices.

The burden of leadership

My fellow Americans, for nearly seven decades the United States has been the anchor of global security. This has meant doing more than forging international agreements. It has meant enforcing them. The burdens of leadership are often heavy, but the world's a better place because we have borne them.

And so to my friends on the right, I ask you to reconcile your commitment to America's military might with a failure to act when a cause is so plainly just.

To my friends on the left, I ask you to reconcile your belief in freedom and dignity for all people with those images of children writhing in pain and going still on a cold hospital floor, for sometimes resolutions and statements of condemnation are simply not enough.

Indeed, I'd ask every member of Congress, and those of you watching at home tonight, to view those videos of the attack, and then ask: What kind of world will we live in if the United States of America sees a dictator brazenly violate international law with poison gas and we choose to look the other way? Franklin Roosevelt once said our national determination to keep free of foreign wars and foreign entanglements cannot prevent us from feeling deep concern when ideals and principles that we have cherished are challenged.

Our ideals and principles, as well as our national security, are at stake in Syria, along with our leadership of a world where we seek to ensure that the worst weapons will never be used. America is not the world's policeman. Terrible things happen across the globe, and it is beyond our means to right every wrong. But when, with modest effort and risk, we can stop children from being gassed to death and thereby make our own children safer over the long run, I believe we should act. That's what makes America different. That's what makes us exceptional.

With humility, but with resolve, let us never lose sight of that essential truth.

Thank you. God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.

So the bottom line he's looking to save his butt for drawing the redline....and now wants to take credit for diplomacy, that may or may not fail, but he still wants to threaten Assad and bomb Syria??

However, as I said before, if I was Assad I'd be skeptical on trusting Obama..after all he had Gaddaffi killed even after he gave up his WMDs and was not a threat to the US but helped AQ take over Libya and assassinate him.

12/2003:

"The decision by Libya was last night hailed by both London and Washington as a victory in the so-called war on terror and that the invasion of Iraq had sent a clear message to any other nations seeking to develop WMD.

Libya's willingness to give up its WMD program is essentially another step in the process that was started earlier this summer when it agreed to accept responsibility for the Lockerbie bombing and to pay $10m (£5.6m) in compensation to the relatives of each of the 270 people killed in the 1988 attack on the airliner.

Libya has been making efforts to return to the international fold and develop closer trade links with the West since 1999, when it handed over two Libyan suspects to stand trial under Scottish law at a purpose-built court in the Netherlands. In January 2001, one of those suspects, Abdel Basset al-Megrahi, was convicted. His co-accused was cleared.

In exchange for the compensation and the acceptance of responsibility, the United Nations in September formally lifted sanctions against Libya that had been in place since 1991. America's own sanctions have remained, with Washington insisting they would stay in place until Libya proved it "changed its ways". The UN resolution also demanded that Libya give up any WMD.

"

However, ten years later the Obama administration turned on Gaddaffi and helped have him assassinated by Islamic terrroists....and then Benghazi happened....if I were Assad I would be very skeptical of trusting the Obama admin not to have Assad assassinated after he gives up his chemical weapons.

Kerry warns a deal on Syria would be 'exceedingly difficult.' | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
Secretary of State John Kerry warned that it would be exceedingly difficult for Syria to meet the international community's conditions for giving up its chemical weapons and avoiding a threatened U.S.
littlebytesnews's insight:

They're skeptical because they weren't expecting them to offer a deal...Russia called Kerry's bluff and agreed to mediate between Syria and the US to contain their chemical weapons, now Kerry and the Obama admin are trying to play it down. If Obama would have proposed diplomacy a week ago and before he drew his red line or started issuing threats of war perhaps he wouldn't have been made a fool of by Putin. You'd think Obama would have learned from when Gaddaffi gave up his chemical weapons.

The only thing difficult is Obama swallowing his loyalty to our enemies and backing down... Everything he's done has been to show his allegiance to the Muslim Brotherhood or some other al-Qaeda affiliate. Including the execution of SEAL Team 6 and continued funding and support of Morsi and his attack on Benghazi and now the attempt to send our troops to fight Syria FOR the same terror cells that destroyed NYC on this anniversary. He wanted it done by today as a flag of total surrender to offer to al-Qaeda as total victory OVER America...but Putin managed to throw a wrench in it...WHY? I don't know except Putin hates Muslim terrorists as much as most of us do....

Syrian Nun:Has ‘Evidence’ Proving Chemical Attack Video Was A Fraud?

Syrian Nun:Has ‘Evidence’ Proving Chemical Attack Video Was A Fraud? | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
An image grab taken from a video uploaded on YouTube by the Arbeen unified press office on August 21, 2013 shows a man comforting a Syrian girl in shock as she screams in Arabic "I am alive" following an attack in which Syrian opposition claim the...

Excerpted from RT: There is proof the footage of the alleged chemical attack in Syria was fabricated, Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, mother superior of St. James Monastery in Qara, Syria, told RT. She says she is about to submit her findings to the UN.

Mother Agnes, a catholic nun, who has been living in Syria for 20 years and has been reporting actively on what has been going on in the war-ravaged country, says she carefully studied the video featuring allegedly victims of the chemical weapons attack in the Syrian village of Guta in August and now questions its authenticity.

In her interview with RT, Mother Agnes doubts so much footage could have been taken in so little time, and asks where parents of the supposedly dead children are. She promises to send her report to the UN.

The nun is indignant with the world media for apparently turning a blind eye to the Latakia massacre by rebel extremists, which left 500 civilians including women and children dead.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has called on the international community to pay attention to revelations made by Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib.

RT: The United States has used internet photos and video footage of the supposed chemical weapons attack in Eastern Guta to build a case against the Syrian government. Have you been able to look at these files? What do you have to say about them? Mother Agnes: I have carefully studied the footage, and I will present a written analysis on it a bit later. I maintain that the whole affair was a frame-up. It had been staged and prepared in advance with the goal of framing the Syrian government as the perpetrator.

The key evidence is that Reuters made these files public at 6.05 in the morning. The chemical attack is said to have been launched between 3 and 5 o’clock in the morning in Guta. How is it even possible to collect a dozen different pieces of footage, get more than 200 kids and 300 young people together in one place, give them first aid and interview them on camera, and all that in less than three hours? Is that realistic at all? As someone who works in the news industry, you know how long all of it would take.

The bodies of children and teenagers we see in that footage – who were they? What happened to them? Were they killed for real? And how could that happen ahead of the gas attack? Or, if they were not killed, where did they come from? Where are their parents? How come we don’t see any female bodies among all those supposedly dead children?

I am not saying that no chemical agent was used in the area – it certainly was. But I insist that the footage that is now being peddled as evidence had been fabricated in advance. I have studied it meticulously, and I will submit my report to the UN Human Rights Commission based in Geneva.

RT: Recently you’ve visited Latakia and the adjacent areas, you’ve talked to the eyewitnesses to the massacre of civilians carried out in Latakia by Jabhat al-Nusra. What can you tell us about it?

MA: What I want to ask first of all is how the international community can ignore the brutal killing spree in Latakia on Laylat al-Qadr early in the morning of August 5, an attack that affected more than 500 people, including children, women and the elderly. They were all slaughtered. The atrocities committed exceed any scale. But there was close to nothing about it in the international mass media. There was only one small article in “The Independent”, I believe.

We sent our delegation to these villages, and our people had a look at the situation on-site, talked to the locals, and most importantly – talked to the survivors of the massacre.

I don’t understand why the Western media apply double standards in this case – they talk about mass murder that the use of chemical weapons resulted in non-stop, but they keep quiet about the Latakia massacre.

RT: Do you know anything about the fate of hostages captured in Latakia? MA: In the village of Estreba they massacred all the residents and burnt down their houses. In the village of al-Khratta almost all the 37 locals were killed. Only ten people were able to escape.

A total of twelve Alawite villages were subjected to this horrendous attack. That was a true slaughterhouse. People were mutilated and beheaded. There is even a video that shows a girl being dismembered alive – alive! – by a frame saw. The final death toll exceeded 400, with 150 to 200 people taken hostage. Later some of the hostages were killed, their deaths filmed.

At the moment we are looking for the hostages and negotiating their release with the militants, but so far we haven’t managed to achieve that.

RT: We often hear reports of Christians being persecuted by the militants. Just the day before yesterday there was an attack in the village of Maaloula, where the majority of population is Christian. Are Christians in Syria facing grave danger?

MA: Everyone in Syria is facing grave danger. There was a case of Muslim religious leaders being kidnapped and beheaded. They were humiliated and tortured. Ismailis, the druze, Christians – people from all parts of Syrian society – are being mass murdered. I would like to say that if these butchers didn’t have international support, no one would have dared to cross the line. But today, unfortunately, the violation of human rights and genocide in Syria is covered up on the international level. I demand the international community stops assessing the situation in Syria in accordance with the interests of a certain group of great powers.

The Syrian people are being killed. They fall victim to contractors, who are provided with weapons and sent to Syria to kill as many people as possible. The truth is, everywhere in Syria people are being kidnapped, tortured, raped and robbed. These crimes remain unpunished, because the key powers chose international terrorism as a way to destroy sovereign states. They’ve done it to other countries. And they will just keep doing it if the international community doesn’t say “Enough!”

RT: You’ve managed to get hold of some sensitive information. Does this make you fear for your life as someone who keeps documents that may compromise the militants? Has anyone threatened you?

MA: You are right. I do get threatened. They are trying to discredit me. I know there is a book coming out soon in France that labels me as a criminal who kills people. But any believer should first and foremost trust their conscience, their belief in God, and that will help them save innocent lives. I don’t care much about my own life. My life is no more precious than that of any Syrian child, whose body could be used as evidence to justify wrongdoing. This is the biggest crime ever perpetrated in history.

RT: What should the Syrians do to stop the tragedy they are going through?

MA: The Syrians themselves can do nothing to stop it. They can only rely on the international community, friendly nations, world powers, such as Russia, China, and India. With a lot of enthusiasm we did welcome the news that the British parliament voted against the participation of their country in the possible war against Syria. There is a terrorist war going on against Syria right now. The international community and Syria’s friends should join forces and say:

Enough! And they need to use every opportunity to do that. Otherwise this threat Syria is facing now will turn into a threat to universal peace.

RT: What should the Vatican and other hubs of Christianity do to put an end to this tragedy?

MA: The Pope says he has no planes, no bombs, and no armed forces. Instead, he has the power of the truth, and the truth he has told. There are messages coming from everywhere in the world urging against a military intervention in Syria. Those who want to hear them will. The Pope, the patriarchs, Nobel Prize winners, including women, keep saying the same in unison: Let’s stop fighting. No conflict can be solved by military means. Stop adding fuel to the flame!

All the prominent public figures in the world have risen to speak against the war. Everyone has spoken their mind, but the US prefers to turn a deaf ear. The world public opinion has turned against the US. It’s the first time in history that America is alone. They are claiming that they are backed by ten countries. But I insist they aren’t, because the people of these countries disagree with their governments. Even the American people disagree with their government.

RT: Do you believe that this tragedy will end and Syria will remain a homeland for all Syrians, regardless of their ethnical or religious identity?

MA: I’m not Syrian myself, but I’ve been living in Syria for 20 years. I’d like to remind everyone that Damascus is the most ancient capital in the world. I would like to remind everyone that Syria is the cradle of civilization. I would like to remind everyone that this is the holy land that gave birth to the main world religions. What is happening in Syria should serve as a lesson for everyone. I mean that in existential rather than political sense. I am convinced that with God’s help the Syrian people will be able to remain strong, heal their wounds, reconcile and chase out all the foreign mercenaries and terrorists. I believe there will be peace in Syria. But for that we need help from the international

littlebytesnews's insight:

I don't know what to think of this report and whether her evidence is anymore legitimate than Obama's at this point. I believe many innocent women and children and others have been killed in Syria, long before the chemical attack even occurred. But I believe most of it was done by the Syrian rebels/AQ terrorists who are attempting to overthrow Assad and turn Syria into an Islamic state rather than a secular state like they did in Libya.

Regardless of who did it, whether videos are staged or not, there isn't enough solid evidence to prove who did it and it is still not our war. Both sides hate the US and celebrated on 9/11 when we were attacked by the same terrorists/AQ who Obama now wants to arm, train and aid with our military.

We have no business over there. The only thing we should offer is humanitarian aid such as gas masks, clean water, etc for the peaceful refugees who have fled the violence and help the Christians escape who are under attack and persecution.

If we are not going to secure the chemical weapons there is no reason to offer any military intervention...besides it is probably too late to secure the weapons because like with Saddam, Assad has likely already moved the weapons into Iran or Lebannon and they could already be under the control of the rebels/AQ who may have used them or Hezbollah could have them.

250 Marines moved closer to Libya on 1st Benghazi anniversary

250 Marines moved closer to Libya on 1st Benghazi anniversary | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
The Pentagon takes extra precautions following criticism that the Defense and State Departments didn't do enough a year ago to protect U.S. personnel on 9/11.

U.S. military commanders have moved 250 Marines into position at a naval air base on the Italian island of Sicily in order to put them within a three-hour flight to Libya on the first anniversary of the Benghazi terror attack and the twelfth observance of 9/11.

But no one has been arrested in connection with the mortar and firebomb assault a year ago that claimed the lives of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stephens and three other American personnel.

There is not 'anyone in custody who can tell us' specifics about the Benghazi attack, a counterterrorism official told The Washington Post on Wednesday. 'That is a huge gap. What we lack is a source of information that puts us where we need to be.'

Naval Air Station Sigonella in Italy is hosting half of the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force unit, while its remaining 250 Marines remain at the Morón Air Base in southern Spain.

The Marines' move to Italy was undertaken to place them closer to Libya in the event Islamist terror groups unleashed another Benghazi-style attack.

In Benghazi on Wednesday, a powerful car bomb was detonated near Libya’s Foreign Ministry building. The early morning explosion resulted in no serious casualties.

That building, the Associated Press reported, once housed the U.S. consulate during the monarchy of King Idris, who ruled the country before Muammar Gaddafi overthrew him in 1969.

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan told reporters on Wednesday that his government would track down the bombers and 'cut off their hands.'

As Libyans deal with this latest attack, some Republicans in Congress are still looking rearward at a crisis that has killed their confidence in the Obama administration.

Even the president's seemingly unrelated Syria strategy has at times come under fire out of lawmakers' year-old frustrations.

South Carolina GOP Rep. Jeff Duncan told Kerry during a Syria hearing last week in the House Foreign Affairs Committee that he 'can't discuss the possibility of the U.S. involvement in Syria's civil war without also talking about Benghazi.'

'The administration has a serious credibility issue with the American people,' claimed Duncan, 'due to the unanswered questions surrounding the terrorist attack in Benghazi almost a year ago.'

Levin: No Surprise if Obama Unilaterally Strikes Syria

Levin: No Surprise if Obama Unilaterally Strikes Syria | War Against Islam | Scoop.it
Despite dwindling support among Congress and public, 'the prospect is real that he would,' senator says.

President Barack Obama could likely intervene militarily in Syria without congressional authorization – or, indeed, without the support of the American people, a top lawmaker said Wednesday.

[READ: Obama Asks for Trust, Delayed Vote on Syria]

Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., is the chairman of the Senate Armed Services committee and voted against going to war in Iraq despite overwhelming public support for it. Most Americans today disapprove of the U.S. conducting targeted missile strikes in Syria, per Obama's strategy, and the latest whip counts hint he would likely not get congressional support.

Despite Russian proposals for drawing down Syrian stockpiles of chemical weapons, Obama may still need to heed military leaders' warnings that the use of such arms actively endangers the United States and requires punishment.

"It would not be a surprise at all to me, even if there were no congressional authority, that he would use his Article 2 authority," said Levin of Obama's constitutional authority to address security threats against the U.S. even without Congress formally declaring war.

"I don't know that he will. I think the prospect is real that he would," Levin said, speaking at a breakfast meeting with reporters. "The option has surely got to be supported in any way we can, that he has that option. [Congress] should do nothing to reduce the availability of options to the president."

[PHOTOS: Alleged Gas Attack Kills Hundreds in Syria ]

Real Clear Defense counts only 26 representatives and 24 senators who would likely support military action against President Bashar Assad's infrastructure to deploy chemical weapons.

That sentiment mirrors a series of polls of the American public that suggest as many as 80 percent are against the strike. Levin says the need to send a clear message against future use of chemical weapons worldwide trumps war weariness at home.

"I just don't think we can be guided in this kind of issue by public opinion polls," he said. "I've done a lot of thinking. I've done a lot of studying. I've done a lot of listening. I'm not, hopefully, arrogant to ignore public opinion, but after you're done you have to decide, 'What is the security interest of this country?'"

littlebytesnews's insight:

If I was Assad I'd be skeptical on trusting Obama..after all he had Gaddaffi killed even after he gave up his WMDs and was not a threat to the US but helped AQ take over Libya and assassinate him.

IntelliBriefs: 75,000 troops needed to secure chemical weapons if Damascus falls

IntelliBriefs: 75,000 troops needed to secure chemical weapons if Damascus falls | War Against Islam | Scoop.it

Testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee on March 7, 2012, then-Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta warned the ouster of Assad would present a scenario “100 times worse than what we dealt with in Libya.”

In order to secure the 50 chemical weapon and production sites spread across Syria, in addition to storage and research facilities, “The Pentagon has estimated that it would take over 75,000 troops to neutralize the chemical weapons,” the document continues, citing a February 2012 CNN report.
Meanwhile, a resolution backing the use of force against President Bashar Assad's government cleared the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on a 10-7 vote on Wednesday, although section 3 of the draft ostensibly ruled out US combat operations on the ground.

The wording of the text, however, could potentially allow for troops on the ground for the sake of non-offensive operations, including securing chemical weapons stockpiles and production facilities.
While the Senate committee initially opted to limit US military involvement in the country to 90 days with no potential of ground operations, Republican Senator John McCain joined forces with Democratic Senator Chris Coons to add a provision calling for "decisive changes to the present military balance of power on the ground in Syria."

The Obama administration’s vacillations on Syria were perhaps best exemplified by Secretary of State John Kerry. Speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, Kerry suggested it would be preferable to give the White House the power to send in ground forces in the event that Syria “imploded” or if chemical weapons were at risk of being obtained by extremists.
"I don't want to take off the table an option that might or might not be available to a president of the United States to secure our country," he told the committee in the run up to the vote.
After being told by Senator Bob Corker –  the top Republican on the committee –  his sentiments regarding boots on the ground were not “a very appropriate response,” Kerry quickly backtracked.
"Let's shut the door now," Kerry said. "The answer is, whatever prohibition clarifies it to Congress or the American people, there will not be American boots on the ground with respect to the civil war."
