MYNT Broadcast by MYNT

Watch MYNT's MYNT Broadcast on Livestream.com.
wanderingsalsero's insight:

My job is writing about the network marketing industry and this is one of the better companies I've come to know.  It's not the only one that's good but.... it's certainly one of the best.

There's a video at the first part here that parodies the traditional MLM opportunity meeting.  It's very funny and soooo true.

With the economy 'in the tank' like it is nowadays, I can't see why anybody wouldn't seriously be looking for a 'Plan B'.  IMHO there's two keys:

1.  Find a product or service you believe in enough to use yourself (keeping mind that there's no such thing as a product the "Everybody will want this!").

 2.  It's got to come with a method of sharing it that fits your personality.

I could go on and on.  'Yes', I am pro-MLM.  I'm actually prohibited from 'joining' any MLM right now but if I wasn't... this would be a company I would seriously consider.

P.S.  I think this would be a GREAT product for anybody in the dance business to be in.

Welcome to the Future of Sihanoukville

Welcome to the Future of Sihanoukville | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
I took the photograph at left in January 2013. It appeared in a Travelfish article I wrote, Rural Sihanoukville by Motorbike. After a marathon 10 days of working 12-15 hours a day...
wanderingsalsero's insight:

I just realized yesterday that I haven't been curating these posts from Sihanoukville (SV) Journal that I like so much.  Then I also realized that I just haven't been  using the automatic notification feature of Scoop.it.  So....

Here's a good post.  Can you imagine being in a far-off place like this for 5 years??  Wow.  To me.... that sounds like something very admirable.  This is a great article because it points out how one of the ways SV going through the same growth that most other places do.

But I realized something else too:  This guy really does write very well.

"I was what they call in America an asshole." Do what you want to do. | Slomo

Dr. John Kitchin quit a medical career to pursue his passion: skating along the boardwalk of San Diego’s Pacific Beach. He calls himself “Slomo.”

This guy really, really has it right.  Everybody could do what he does. Maybe not to the degree, but certainly in substance.  He's right about something else too.  It's easy to become an ass-hole and not even know it until it's too late.

Why It's Never Been Easier to be a Freelance Writer

Why It's Never Been Easier to be a Freelance Writer | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
Think times are tough for freelance writers? Here's a revealing look at why there's never been a better time to pursue writing for pay.
wanderingsalsero's insight:

Although I certainly haven't reached the level of success that Carol Trice, the writer of this article has, I know enough to heartily agree with what she says about the prospects for writers today and how many different ways there are to become one.

I won't re-hash the article...you can read it, but I'm always glad to see people talk about things that are actually better than most people think they are.  From what I know of her story, Carol is well-qualified to talk about the 'then' vs. 'now' of becoming a writer.  Her story is interesting and it's interwoven throughout her excellent blog at www.makealivingwriting.com .

I was down at a local mall, Al Hamra Mall, today (going to Western Union) and as I was waiting outside for my taxi a guy (a westerner) stopped and greeted me and we chatted for a bit.

He said he spoke to me because he recognized me from coincidental observations there before. I thought that was an interesting coincidence because, firstly, I'm fascinated by observant people, and secondly, I've only been to that mall maybe 4 times in the 3+ months I've been here (in Ras al Khaimah, UAE).

Other than the fact that I'm always impressed by anybody who has the confidence to just say 'Hi' to somebody else (most people are not that extrovert, right?), I was also impressed when he told me he was a self-employed writer too.

We didn't have time to chat about his particular professional journey but I gathered that, just like me, it was just something that happened gradually with him.

Point being:  Just like Carol says....there's a lot of different roads that lead to being a writer but apparently the field is more wide open than ever.  Someday I'm going to enroll his her "Writers Den".

Watch Jeff Gordon give an auto blogger the terrifying ride of his life

Watch Jeff Gordon give an auto blogger the terrifying ride of his life | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
About a year ago, the marketing geniuses of Pepsi MAX came up with the idea of having NASCAR star Jeff Gordon disguise himself as a milquetoast tire-kicker and shoot a video with him taking a used-car salesman on a high-speed joyride in a Camaro. It was a good notion, but the setup was a bit too transparent — the more you thought about it, the more staged it seemed. (C'mon, cupholder camera?)

Wepware is a new web app which allows you to capture any web page or portion of it and organize it into Pinterest-like boards which can be easily published and shared on social media channels.

Unique strengths include the ability to capture dynamic information boxes (flight schedule, sport scores, etc.) that will continue to be updated even when they are inside your curated collections. In addition, such live dynamic info snippets can be easily pasted on any web page you want and kept there as a live reference.

My comment: Powerful dynamic capture feature allows the creation of unique dynamic dashboards that collect and organize information from various sources in real-time.

Available as a Chrome browser extension.

Free to use.

The Good News in Cambodia

The Good News in Cambodia | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
There s been a lot of bad news about Cambodia lately. Tensions between the two opposing political factions have been high. There s continued talk about land grabs and illegal logging. As usual, there are elements of the press who simply have to look for as much bad news as possible.
wanderingsalsero's insight:

Another good article pointing out that Cambodia, the country that most people probably still associate with "The Killing Fields", has come a long way.  Apparently in some ways even further than Vietnam.  Cambodia has Ford and Hyundai building cars there and they even have their own, native-born and manufactured, electric car.  How cool is that?

Why I love Sihanoukville

Why I love Sihanoukville | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
They say Cambodia has only two seasons -- wet and dry. That may be true, but there are also transition periods when it s a little of each. The in-between season leading up to Khmer New Year is my least favourite. Hot and humid, there s little respite from the heat day or night.

▶ Pastor "Sat" Manila Wedding Pastor - YouTube

wanderingsalsero's insight:

This is really kinda funny...what the heck is a simple video like this doing on a Scoop.it page like this...(even one as chaotic as mine) ? :-)

The answer is that Pastor "Sat" is a friend of mine.  He loves doing weddings, he's done a boatload of them, and he's also long and happily married himself.

I've never been married but I agree with Pastor Sat that any marriage is going to have a lot better chance of success if it's founded on the Word of God and faith in Jesus.

Personally, I'd highly recommend Pastor Sat for anybody in the Manila area who want a memorable, Christian marriage pastor and a ceremony where all the 'right stuff' will be included and nothing will be left out.

How To Supercharge Your Coffee To Give You Even More Energy In The Morning

How To Supercharge Your Coffee To Give You Even More Energy In The Morning | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it

The old world tradition of adding butter to coffee has recently re-emerged as a performance enhancer embraced by the likes of Bulletproof Executive founder Dave Asprey and holistic health guru Andrew Weil.

Weil asserts that the often demonized saturated fat poses no risk for increased heart disease and may actually help "stimulate the body's fat-burning potential" in addition to boosting creativity and productivity.

Maduro Offers Opposition New Talks as He Seeks U.S. Ties

Maduro Offers Opposition New Talks as He Seeks U.S. Ties | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called for a “peace conference” tomorrow as street protests head toward their third week and the government nominated an ambassador to the U.S. following a four-year absence.
wanderingsalsero's insight:

Considering that Venezuela is a major oil producer, I can't help but wonder to what extent the global banking elite and/or the US specifically, is behind this turmoil in Venezuela.  I think it's too early to see which way this is going but I do know one thing:  chaos always presents opportunities for those who know how to create it and government destabilization is the 'new' form of geopolitical aggression (for several decades now).
