wanderingsalsero's insight:

Take a look at this summary page from a search I did on Tumblr.com. What does it tell you?

It tells me that there's a LOT of Kizomba related content on Tumblr.com. I've had a Tumblr account for many, many years. I was always torn between using Posterous.com and Tumblr.com and for various reasons, I chose Posterous.

In retrospect maybe that wasn't a good idea because Yahoo bought Posterous and then shut them down. For some reason which eludes me now, I neglected to scrape my MANY, many posts off of Posterous so, as a result, it was like being digitally lobotomized, i.e. I lost all that content.

But Tumblr is still around and by all appearances they're still doing well. I always thought Tumblr was as oriented toward writing as it was towards pictures, but.....obviously they didn't design their platform around my wants.

One good thing about Tumblr is that they do have a bookmarklet that makes it easy to curate...but I don't think they have the FB and other social media platform that scoop.it does. I no longer use RebelMouse.com because they've gotten too complicated.

I miss Posterous but I might start paying more attention to Tumblr.

I thought this was an interesting, and encouraging, article. I have no plans to ever return to the US so I won't be able to benefit from this common sense. But I still think that there's not a damn thing wrong with smoking weed. If more people smoked that stuff and drank less beer and liquor...the world would be a better place.

wanderingsalsero's insight:

She's got a lot of 'balls' talking about racism. What do you wanna be that ALL the power elite that put her scallywag husband into office are white?? If it wasn't for them, her 'better half' would probably be working as a clerk in an import/export company somewhere in Kenya and she would be a 'former' attorney working in a Walmart somewhere.

wanderingsalsero's insight:

This video is part of a YouTube playlist for a Portuguese singer known as 'Deolinda'. She's got a cute singing style. You can read more about her background on Wikipedia. I discovered her on Grooveshark a year or so ago (you knew that Grooveshark is shut down now, right?). She was classified as 'Fado' on Grooveshark but I think that's only in the general sense that 'Fado' is a pop music of Portugal. But she doesn't sound anything like what I consider the real Fado singers like Amalia Rodriguez, Mariza, or others who are much more emotion in their singing style.

There’s a MAJOR benefit in Chile that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it

Santiago, Chile

A few days ago I was having lunch with some executives who run one of the largest fruit companies in the world.

The company is Chilean, and as the guys are all local, they were curious about my take on Chile as a foreigner.

I told them that Chile is far from p
wanderingsalsero's insight:

I thought this was very interesting. It was especially timely too in that I just got through reading an ebook about the market for writers. I might not be Ernest Hemingway but I'm still pretty darn good. People read my 'stuff'.... and that's the biggest challenge on the web nowaday....i.e. 'engagement'.

What I do right now pays reasonably well for what it is....but I am starting to do much better (with my Case Studies and White Papers) and I think I' going to be able to afford to travel and see some of the beautiful places, like Chile, that Latin America has to offer.

I also really love to get back to S.Korea and see if that little Bachatera, the one who always used to close her eyes when she danced with me, still goes to Bachata Night at that one certain club.

wanderingsalsero's insight:

You know, we really do live in a world where right is called wrong and wrong is called right...when the people who attack Jihad Watch can't do any better than slink around like the cowardly fools they are and try to bring this the Jihad Watch site down. Clearly they can't dispute the truth of what their site says. A religion that condones that kind of behavior can't survive very long.

wanderingsalsero's insight:

I watched half of this and then couldn't take any more. This illustrates the style of dancing that I think is so ridiculous....nothing but gyrations and stunts... at least the part that I watched. Compare this video with any of the other ones, over the years, that I've said I liked and I think the difference if obvious.

And one more semi-rant:

Why people 'get off' so much on standing around, that's STANDING AROUND (i.e. NOT DOING IT THEMSELVES)... watching somebody ELSE dance.....is totally beyond me.  You'll never see me NOT dancing very long at a club. Life wasn't meant to watch other people have fun.

wanderingsalsero's insight:

Although I still haven't figured out the graphic display intricacies of Tumblr, I do think I see one of it's uses:

It looks like it would be really good for practising 'making good headlines' and also writing 'teaser' intro's that get people to clink on the original article.

There have been a few WSO's that have talked about using Tumblr for marketing. I think I bought one but didn't get much out of it. I still don't see where Tumblr is very good for editorializing.

Americans ‘prefer Christians for their rulers’

Americans ‘prefer Christians for their rulers’ | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
A Free Press For A Free People Since 1997
wanderingsalsero's insight:

Wow! This article is an excellent read. It'll take about 15 minutes but it's entirely worth it...not only because of the extracts it has from somebody who obviously was a towering pillar among our country's forefathers also because (truth be known) the article itself is well written.

Probably no non-Christians are aware of the influence that Christianity had on our founding fathers and the birth and growth of our once-great country. Probably even most Christians, if they don't have any interest in history, don't know how important the hand and word of God was in the birth of our country.

I find it very interesting. Anybody who reads this article will learn a LOT. It's full of jewels that will help put a lot of what's happening today into proper perspective.

Jerusalem and the Lost Temple of the Jews (DVD)

Jerusalem and the Lost Temple of the Jews (DVD) | Wandering Salsero | Scoop.it
wanderingsalsero's insight:

I've seen this video at least two previous times but I always think it's interesting to watch again when WND.com advertises it. The idea that the Jew 'appear' to have gotten it wrong regarding where 'the Second Temple' was built is interesting because it parallels what any good intelligence or counterintelligence or 'disinformation' campaign would do...i.e. confuse the enemy with wrong information so that they'll waste their resources and be ineffective.

You can bet that Satan doesn't want the Temple rebuilt. Or at least he has something to gain by its building being delayed. On the other hand, why couldn't you assume God does NOT want anybody to know where His temple will be rebuilt...at least until the proper time comes?

Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if there is an inner group of Jewish leaders who know very well that the real Temple is NOT where most people think it is/was. The Jews are not stupid people and they take this stuff very seriously.

I find it very hard to believe that God would allow His people to rebuild His temple in the wrong spot....like that 'bridge to nowhere' up in the US Northwest several years ago (remember?).

By all accounts, the Jews are getting ready to rebuild the temple. They're training the priests, breeding the sacrificial animals, preparing the priestly garments, and probably making the various gold and brass fixtures that are used in the Temple rituals.

Plus, on God's clock (which is calculated to piss off Satan and his minions, the radical Arabs), now would be a great time to rebuild the Temple.

I remember my times in NYC, right after I got out of graduate school in 74. I enjoyed it and I'm sure there's still a lot of stimulating stuff there but I'm also sure I couldn't afford it now. That was my first experience with subways and there's nothing as liberating as not needing a car. You can get by w/o a car in a city like NYC because there's so much LIFE compressed in a small space there.

www.facebook.com/beakiz Share to my fan page, thanks!! LOVES KIZOMBA, 2º Anniversary in GRAN CONIL HOTEL (Conil- Cádiz-Spain) 13th, 14th and 15th of March 20...
wanderingsalsero's insight:

Wow...this video blows me away! It's one of the prettiest Kizomba dances I've seen in a LONG time. First of all...the girl is beautiful. Don't you love her pants? I do. Then, the photography setting is excellent. The black and the gold and the complimentary colors are great.

Next, look closely and notice what he does with his feet when he sometimes blocks her feet and pushes her in a different direction. Is that something they do in Tango too? I see it here at .48, 1:00, 1:15, 2:13 (he pulls her around with his arm lead), and 3:06.

Also notice that he doesn't move around a lot. It's a perfect example of a guy being in control and utilizing the floor very well.

Grrrreat! video.
