Tucked away in the 45 pages’ worth of terms and conditions (effective August 1) is a substantial power grab: The company is collecting data on much of what you do while using its new software.

Windows 7 and Windows 8 users might have noticed a new Windows icon in their system trays that when clicked, will open a dialog that introduces Windows 10 and determines if you’re eligible for a free upgrade. Here is how to remove that icon and dialog permanently.

Nesting something permanently in the taskbar and having it run every time the computer starts is a kinda shitty way to get people to "upgrade", imho. I knew I had enough when I elected to "End Process" it and it popped back up seconds later.
