Vega Sicilia, perhaps Spain’s greatest winery, performs numerous tests on its corks and has arranged with its cork provider that if even a very small number of the corks fail the test, the entire batch gets returned at the cork-provider’s expense. The Vega bottle is nothing fancy and it is no heavier than most other bottles, but what’s inside is extraordinary.
