90 Percent of Small Business Use Social Media [infograhic]

90 Percent of Small Business Use Social Media [infograhic] | visualizing social media | Scoop.it
A survey of 600 small business owners across the United States indicates that 90% are actively engaged in social networking sites and 74% perceive social networking as valuable — if not more valuable — than networking in-person.

When 42% of owners say that 25% of new customers discovered them through sites such as Facebook and Foursquare, it is crucial that your business is online and social.

But the news is not all merry, as 58% of surveyed owners said they struggle with promoting their Facebook pages — if they have a page at all.

The takeaway is clear. You need to be where your customers are. Forget what your competitors are doing, as their customers are different from your customers. You also need to integrate internet communications into your normal routine of business networking.

New Data: Which Popular Media Sites Succeed With Certain Audiences? [infographic] | visualizing social media | Scoop.it

Which domains have the most engaged audiences in five verticals: women, politics, business/finance, science, and technology?

To determine the top publishers, we used BuzzSumo to retrieve the sharing metrics on more than 30,000 relevant articles between May 2014 and April 2015 relating to the five verticals mentioned above. In total, these articles earned more than 58 million social shares. We used BuzzSumo to retrieve the top 1,000 articles in each vertical that were published between May 4, 2015 and April 30, 2015 as well.

With this data, we identified the 10 publishers in each vertical with the highest number of total shares -- and learned a lot about content promotion along the way. In this post, we’ll walk you through six key takeaways from our findings that'll help you maximize outreach during your next promotions cycle...

Quality cameras take photos with thousands of pixels wide and high, yet when you need to use these images on the online media communities, the resolution needs to be significantly reduced.
While this infographic guide helps you to get the right sizes, the actual QUALITY of the photo usually depends on the quality of the LENS you use.

Instagram is one area that has shown itself to be a viable marketing tool. Its pleasing to use because there is so much material around in the form of motivational quotes etc and you can put your own creative touches to images to help with your own branding.

All businesses before they actually become businesses need to ask themselves an important question. That question is who is their main target audience? Once they answer who they are trying to target then they need to know a few things about that specific group of people. That is where this interesting article comes into play.

It mentions the different forms of technology each generation uses. That should be looked at by businesses to make sure that they are able to provide information for every device such as apps for the phones and tablets as well as properly functioning websites for the desktops  and laptops.

It also mentions how certain generations are likely to be on the computer at certain times so timing out correctly notifications and emails you want your target audience to see is very important to take into consideration.

Some people now days leave negative comments because of inappropriate posts which may lead to conflicts between people or hurting one's emotion. I feel that people should be sensitive when uploading a post so that negative impacts of social media will not worsen.
