Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Connected Experiences, Inc., today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Vuforia business to PTC (NASDAQ: PTC), a global provider of technology platforms and
Jed Fisher's insight:

Woa major! Really surprised to see this. Very odd from Qualcomm and smart from PTC.

AR tech has become a strategic technology for companies, we've seen:

Metaio AR -> bought by Apple

13th Lab -> bought by Oculus

Magic Leap -> invested in by Google (half a billion!)

Hololens -> from Microsoft

and many more.

Vuforia has been one of the most stable and reliable AR technologies. Used my a significant % of AR apps.

To me this doesnt really fit PTC but it's a smart move to take control of it, in particular stop Autodesk and Dassault from using it.

AR is hot. Contact me to find out more and how it can help your business.
