Jed Fisher's insight:

I'm glad to finally see what this was all about. I have to say while I'm pleased people are seeing the need and the opportunity in this space I'm disappointed with what i see so far with Flux. Their CEO has awesome energy but i can't help but feel they are going into a space they know little about.

The comment by Mike Bordenaro is spot on - companies like Onuma and Kimon Onuma have been talking about this for years, not only this - they've been doing something about it and have a great BIM/Facility-Planning&Management platform which is available now and increasingly used by many. Worth taking a look at or watching Kimon on TED.

Jed Fisher's insight:

Great article and market data by @bdcnetwork

Gives some market feedback on BIM 2.0 in the AEC space.

Many of these topics are inline with what I have heard and you will find further articles on this blog.

It seems the direction is towards the Field and downstream (Facility Management, etc).

Key feedback included:

- Precise field-placing using robotic total stations

- Extracting data for FM operations,

- BIM on the go (mobile),

- Creating a common BIM language,

- The rise of virtual reality (JF: and AR)
