Brilliant article on Augmented Reality (probably the best i've read), full history and summary on where it is going and what it will mean.
I love the idea of "liking" something by giving your (physical) thumbs up.
It's nuts, we are (were?) the generation (and the final generation) of the keyboard and mouse users. Today the mouse has almost been replaced with touch interfaces and gesture support. We now talk about how easy an iPad UI is to use and how toddlers and grandmothers can use them but the next step - the augmented reality step will be even more instinctual.
We often think of the user interface (UI) as the enabler, a good UI unlocks the potential of a product. However ultimately the best UI is a no UI. UI in itself is a barrier. Ultimately the best UI augments our world and we interact with it in the same way we interact with our real physical world. The result being a zero learning curve.
