Creative agencies like Scriberia and Innovation Arts are offering 'scribing' services to companies who want an illustrated record of their meetings...

Emeric Nectoux's insight:

Combining visualization and storytelling, the  "scribers" (illustrators providing live illustrations to give a visual interpretation of meetings and corporate events) are a great help to engage everyone during the event and even after, when communicating widely.

A great opportunity for artists and business world to meet and combine their skills.

Sketching: the Visual Thinking Power Tool

Sketching: the Visual Thinking Power Tool | All about Visualization & Storytelling | Scoop.it
You don’t have to be a great singer to write a great song, just ask Bob Dylan. Likewise, you needn’t be a Leonardo to draw your way to more and better ideas.

Emeric Nectoux's insight:

This article has been around for a while, but the content stands the test of time, especially Point 3 about sketches fosrtering great conversations. I have lost count of the number of times a rich conversation happened after someone took the pen and started to sketch ideas up on the flipchart. If your meetigs don't involve sketching out ideas, give it a go!

The Age of Data Visualization

Data visualization is a communication tool effective  at communicating information based on data in a clear, concise, compelling manner.

Emeric Nectoux's insight:

Good article even though it is a bit too "BI oriented" to me. Of course, Business Intelligence tools (BI) are a great source of data for  data visualization, but you can find those data anywhere. To have great data visualization charts, you also can use a very small amount of data.

What is important to me in Data visualization is 3 things:

  1. The message you want to give.
  2. The quality of the illustration.
  3. The data and their reliability.

And why you should too

Via Hélène Pouille
Emeric Nectoux's insight:

In a nutshell, sketching helps to see, think, and communicate more clearly. It facilitates dialogue with our-self, and others. It produces wonderful records of the conversations for later. It adds emotion and context to my memory and fuels imagination.
