Use Content Curation to Drive More Traffic

Use Content Curation to Drive More Traffic | Visual Intelligence | Scoop.it

Barry Deutsch's curator insight, December 31, 2012 4:59 PM

One of the most powerful tools that I've been using for the past 3-4 months is Scoop.it. I can curate content that is relevant to a specific segment of my network within 3-5 minutes with an insightful assessment of the article within 3-5 minutes vs. 45-60 minutes for a typical original content blog article of 300-500 words.

Mixing your curated content along with your original content can establish you as a leader in your niche, an expert in your subject area, a thought-leader, and a "go-to" person among your network.

It also can drive an extraordinary number of leads toward you.

What are you waiting for? If you would like a demonstration of how scoop.it works with a social media site like LinkedIn, shoot me a note to set up a complimentary assessment of how you're using content marketing with your network.

Katherine Anne's curator insight, October 7, 2013 5:48 PM

I think this video is very accurate. Today, we are bombarded by information about what we should buy, what we should do, etc. How much of this information do we actually retain? Barley nothing! For something to be retained, it has to be rememberable; what's rememberable? STORIES! The video explains stories are rememberable because they are meaningful. The Internet can so easily simplify information to market products, which ends up having so much information about so many different products all the time. If we take the time to explain a story behind a product when marketing it, I think it will be more profitable. STORIES are the new successful marketing strategy in this world filled with noise and information.

Andrea Luyken's curator insight, October 9, 2013 1:10 PM

Storytelling works because stories are memorable, impactful, and personal. This video also features statistics about why the combination of data and story produces the biggest effect.

Marco Gabrielli's curator insight, November 12, 2013 2:30 PM

Jennifer Aaker illustra in un video l'efficacia della narrazione nella comunicazione di marketing.

"... le storie sono significative, memorabili e incisive, e motivano le persone nel compiere un'azione ..."

a) I lettori memorizzano meglio il messaggio;

b) Ascoltano, si fidano e acquistano;

c) Vivono le emozioni e razionalizzano solo dopo.

La narrazione ritrova il suo originale ruolo di mercato, pilotando le conversazioni di business.

A useful video tutorial here, just over 16 minutes long. It runs through the basics of using Google drive and how you can use it to collaborate with others. It also touches on Google Hangout.

I use Google Drive with my students as a writing space because I teach English via Skype. It suits our needs perfectly. Students create several folders e.g. some are homework spaces; collaborative areas such as wikis; creative writing pages and as a virtual space that we can jump into during the lesson to work on activities. It works for us. As a teacher I can dip into shared spaces at any time and guide and support learning which is a real advantage.

flea palmer's curator insight, August 30, 2013 6:56 AM

This is a really thorough tutorial and very timely as I'm currently exploring using Google Drive with students. Our dispersed team of Learning Technologists already use it for collaboration but there is not much use as yet by our academics and students. The ability to be able to integrate Drive with Google Hangouts is really powerful and has the potential to be a great tool for supporting Distance Learning.

ZenMate - Your Free Privacy & Freedom companion!

ZenMate - Your Free Privacy & Freedom companion! | Visual Intelligence | Scoop.it

Via Kathleen Cercone
David Bennett's insight:

I copied the following from the FAQs:

FROM THE FAQs
Which technology is ZenMate using? Is ZenMate safe?
ZenMate is using superior technology to fully encrypt all of your browser traffic. Your IP is hidden, your Internet unrestricted and your privacy protected. We are using tested industrial strength encryption standards which we are delivering through our unique lightweight plugin, with no configuration needed at all.

Is ZenMate a VPN or a Proxy Plugin?
ZenMate is a new development to offer you the best of both worlds. We bring the feature of full and heavy encryption into the browser with the ease of use and lightweight installation of a browser plugin. This was previously not possible and is unique to the ZenMate plugin.

How does ZenMate differ from plugins like Hide my Ass, Stealthy or Hola Unblocker?
In contrast to many other plugins ZenMate also fully encrypts all your browser traffic.

Other plugins just work like a proxy that change your IP but do not offer encryption. ZenMate is the first plugin to offer security and real privacy by encrypting everything you do in your browser so that hackers and sniffing spooks (such as ISPs and governments for example) don't have a chance to get hold of you.

Does ZenMate log my IP or track any other connection data?
No, ZenMate is not tracking any IPs. If we have to log something due to technical and/or usability reasons we do so after anonymizing the data. We are governed by very strict German data privacy laws, which are among the strictest in Europe. According to these laws we are not allowed to track any form of connection data. Please also have a look at our privacy policy for further information.

Who is behind ZenMate?
We are a young and ambitious team from Berlin, Germany that aims to make the web a better place. Learn more about us, our company and vision. Oh, and we're hiring in case you'd like to join us.
