Technology makes it easy to turn the minutiae of our daily lives into useful data sets, but sometimes it feels bleak seeing every experience or memory broken down into pie charts and bar graphs. 

mem:o is a unique visualization tool that takes life-logging beyond spreadsheets by transforming data into striking images influenced by Dutch graphic design.

The app’s look was inspired by the bold shapes and playful colors of graphic design influenced by Werkplaats Typografie (Typography Workshop) and uses a font called Brown that was created by Swiss designer Aurèle Sack to be especially legible. But mem:o isn’t targeted at design nerds only. The app stands apart because of its streamlined functionality and the easy-to-understand charts it creates.

Through its new "Visual Analytics" offering, SAS seeks to deliver high-power data crunching through less-expensive hardware. That information then cab be shared through an iPad app.

Yes, thanks to what SAS calls "Visual Analytics."

Leave it to the business intelligence gurus at SAS - an acknowledged global leader with a swelling customer base and sales now well over $2 billion annually - to make number crunching not only a graphic but simpler and faster with software that can run on less expensive hardware.

"Visually explore data at the speed of sight," SAS says in its announcement.

And to share the knowledge, enterprise users can keep employees in the loop with their iPads thanks to a specially designed app.

What's the need for SAS' latest offering?

As companies deal with more and more data in a variety of forms from an increasing number of sources (thus "big data") such as social media, mobile shopping and ecommerce, figuring out what to do with the information is becoming more daunting...

The latest addition to the Cleveland Museum of Art is an interactive wall display—the biggest in the US—that merges art and technology. 

Gallery One is a dynamic and evolving piece of wall art created by forward-thinking design firm Local Projects—is the first of its kind to encourage engagement from museum-goers. 
Measuring 40-feet in length, this multi-touch screen is the largest in the US and is capable of displaying over 3,500 items—including masterpieces by Pablo Picasso. 
Synced with an iPad app, the wall guides visitor through the art and provides multiple perspectives on the collections.
