Atlantis Remixed

Atlantis Remixed | Virtual Worlds in Education | Scoop.it
A 3D multi-user environment that immerses children in real-world, socially and academically meaningful activities.
Jan Eade's insight:

"The Atlantis Remixed Project provides students entire worlds in which they are central, important participants; places where their actions have significant impact on the world, and in which what one knows is directly related to what they are able to do and, ultimately, who they can become."

This is the new version of "Quest Atlantis" (although "Quest Atlantis" is still encorporated in it,) which is based on educational tasks and strategies used in commercial games with lessons from educational research on learning and motivation.

I thoroughly reccommend this fantastic educational resource as students not only learn from their experiences here, but also enjoy it.

Make sure you check out the all the tabs, particually the "Educators" and "Researchers" and the "Project Headlines."
