Why You Should Pay Children To Be Emotionally Intelligent » Six Seconds

Why You Should Pay Children To Be Emotionally Intelligent » Six Seconds | Digital Learning, Technology, Education | Scoop.it

What a child wants most of all is attention. That is his currency. So when we want her to be thoughtful of others, empathic and kind, we need to give her lots of attention when we see it happening.

Public Writing and Writing to Learn

Public Writing and Writing to Learn | Digital Learning, Technology, Education | Scoop.it

I would argue that public writing is one of the most important experiences for our students and critical if we believe in writing to learn. From the network public to citizenship, public writing makes our thinking visible and allows us to establish our voice in a broader context of learning for life.

But the idea of public writing disturbs many in education.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Thinkers - Edudemic

Inspiring the Next Generation of Thinkers - Edudemic | Digital Learning, Technology, Education | Scoop.it
Teaching kids goes beyond textbooks and classroom lessons. It has to include teaching them to open their minds and how to think for themselves.

This is how we will encourage them to reach their full potential.

One of the most important things we can teach kids is to believe in themselves. As adults we have an obligation to younger generations to help them gain confidence. We should also help them explore their ability to be creative.

"Over the past few months I’ve been experimenting with guided math strategies in my classroom. One station in my classroom has been dubbed as the technology table. This table has been primarily used to differentiate instruction to improve students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. I’ve been using the tech table for the past few months with great success. There are five iPad apps that are used at this table. Unlike many math apps that offer only demo versions, I’ve found the below apps to be useful in the classroom."
