We dedicate this issue to a giant in public health, Dr. Ciro de Quadros. Ciro sadly passed away on May 28. He devoted his life to advocating for health as a fundamental human right and worked tirelessly on behalf of the world’s poorest populations to increase access to life-saving vaccines. He was also a passionate leader and invaluable mentor to many of us in the global health field. He will be profoundly missed. We are committed to honouring his memory and advancing his legacy, applying his ambition to save lives from needless suffering, encouraging the development and consideration of vaccines to prevent dengue.
