We told you about the Postagram app/service by Sincerely all the way back in 2011 when it first made landfall. Using the free app, users could select photos, pay $1, and have them slapped onto a postcard and sent to whomever they chose.
“When you receive a Postagram in the mail, it’s such a joyous thing,” says Sincerely CEO Matt Brezina in a conversation with TechCrunch. “We want everyone to be able to experience that, and brands are saying they want to be a part of that emotional connection in the real world.”
The update is already live on iOS, with an Android update coming in the near future.
To download your own copy of Postagram and start sending Instagram postcards to your friends for free, head over to the iTunes App Store here.
A Facebook phone isn't cool, you know what's cool? An Internet of Things-styled 'Like' counter for local businesses who want to proudly display their Facebook page metrics.
Admittedly, it doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but the Fliike, from French startup Smiirl, not only looks cool but serves an interesting purpose by providing a bridge between a venue’s virtual presence and its physical one.
The Fliike isn’t the first product of its kind — digital signage that ties into Facebook has been offered before — but Smiirl co-founder and CEO Gauthier Nadaud says that existing offerings tend to target large companies and international brands with “very complicated and costly installations”.
In contrast,Smiirl is gunning for smaller, local businesses. Tellingly, the default Fliike stops short of 100,000 ‘Likes’, though the company is open to producing customised versions.

While Mail.ru says its current share of Russian-language Internet market search queries is less than 9 percent, TheNextWeb reports that Mail.ru Group sites reach approximately 86 percent of Russian Internet users each month.
Recent studies show us that eight out of ten CEOs are social media doubters. The majority don’t understand it or see it as a indulgence. Typically, they define it narrowly, as PR, a marketing campaign or a channel.
Only a small enlightened minority sees social media’s true potential as the new global playing field for business performance, growth and leadership.
Chief among the doubters is Rupert Soames, CEO of FTSE 100 mobile power-plant company Aggreko, who told me:
“My children are on Facebook, my wife's on Facebook, and they all say they will die if I go on Facebook.” When I suggested that he might therefore look to Twitter or LinkedIn, he admitted, “I’m not good at it. It’s slightly passed me by. My first question as the chairman if I find a CEO regularly tweeting is ‘what else could you be doing?’”
