Collaborative Video Editing on the Go: Adobe Anywhere | VideoPro | Scoop.it

Robin Good: Adobe Anywhere is a cloud-based video editing suite tapping into the power and features of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Prelude.

Your original video files are uploaded online and form there on you and your team can collaboratvley work without ever neededing to send or transfer large files.

Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Prelude, which will need to be updated before they can be used with Anywhere, will be able to operate in standalone mode or in a collaborative fashion with the new  Adobe software. For collaborative workflows, you log into Adobe Anywhere, and then can use shared assets along and work with others on your production team who also are using Adobe Anywhere.

Adobe Anywhere supports most formats that Adobe Premiere natively supports including HD, SD, DV formats and more. For a complete list, see http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/supported-file-formats-premiere-pro.html ;

Facebook Live Video Streaming from Your iPhone with Broadcast for Friends by Ustream

Facebook Live Video Streaming from Your iPhone with Broadcast for Friends by Ustream | VideoPro | Scoop.it

Robin Good: Broadcast for Friends is a new video streaming app from Ustream which allows to send live video from your iPhone to your Facebook page.

From the Mashable review: "...Videos can be recorded using either the forward-facing or rear-facing camera on your phone, and there are a number of built-in filters — which can be changed while you film –- in order to give your video a distinctive look.

A free download, signing up for BFF simply requires you to authorize the app via Facebook, a natural move since your ultimate goal will of course to be to broadcast the video you record onto the social network.

...An Only Me, Friends, and Public option shows up before you start, letting you decide how your video is shared.

...Once you select a privacy setting there’s a 3-second countdown and then you’re streaming live.

...Videos are only saved to your Facebook profile if you choose to save them once you’re done filming.

...As you’re shooting your video, likes and comments you receive on your Facebook post are displayed in real time on your phone.

...Broadcast for Friends will be available soon for the iPhone. You can sign up on Ustream’s website to be notified when it goes live."

With Super Hi-Vision, the TV landscape will look very different ten years from now

With Super Hi-Vision, the TV landscape will look very different ten years from now | VideoPro | Scoop.it

No sooner are we getting to grips with 3D and HD, and we’re already being told about the “next big thing” in televisual technology. But keep your hat on, this next one is some years away yet.

Super Hi-Vision (or Ultra High Definition) has been getting a fair bit of coverage of late, largely due to the BBC’s partnership with Japanese broadcaster NHK for the 2012 Olympics.

The technology underlying Super Hi-Vision has been developed in large by NHK’s Science and Technology Research laboratories, which the BBC borrowed to showcase its potential as a broadcasting medium. While the BBC did a tentative test with the technology back in 2010, it was all really gearing up to the Olympics.

Super Hi-Vision combines images 16 times the resolution of High Definition television, with a 22.2 multichannel surround sound. As you’d maybe imagine, when viewed on a purpose-built big screen, the effect is phenomenal.

Vidmind Launches Cloud TV Platform to Let Anyone Create a White Labeled Netflix

Vidmind Launches Cloud TV Platform to Let Anyone Create a White Labeled Netflix | VideoPro | Scoop.it

Tel Aviv-based startup Vidmind came out of stealth today and debuted its cloud-based TV solution, which lets operators, broadcasters and retailers essentially create a white labeled version of Netflix. The company provides an Android-based set top box that can be branded for any company, cloud infrastructure to build a streaming TV service, back-end management for operators, clients for multiple platforms including mobile tablet and PC, and built-in second screen and social features so viewers can interact around content.

Vidmind was started by Danny Peled, the founder of video company GooMe, which developed apps for broadcast providers and counted Vodafone and Orange as customers. ”At the end of our time at GooMe we decided that we wanted to create a platform for OTT [over-the-top content],” Peled said. “We thought that there is big potential for a fully hosted solution for TV services.” The company lets retailers, broadcasters or content creators create a cloud-based video-on-demand (VOD) and live streaming hub, which customers can access on a subscription basis.
