Ivan Nelson's insight:

Move over Delta and Air New Zealand, here comes Virgin America's Safety Music Video. The creative airline safety video is now a trend. Thank goodness! I was really growing tired of wacthing and hearing the same safety video over and over again. It may now make sense to drop the frequent flyer programs to enjoy the taxi before takeoff!

'Gravity' Spinoff: Watch the Other Side of Sandra Bullock's Distress Call (Exclusive Video) | Social Video Watch | Scoop.it

During a pivotal scene in Gravity, Sandra Bullock's character Ryan Stone, trapped inside a Russian space capsule with little hope of survival, makes contact with a male voice speaking via radio in a foreign language. What unfolds on the other end of that fractured conversation, complete with a barking dog and a crying baby, is the subject of a short film by Jonas Cuaron, son of director Alfonso Cuaron, who co-wrote the screenplay for Warner Bros.' $500 million-grossing awards contender with his father.

Karen Dietz's curator insight, January 24, 12:45 PM

It's the 30 year anniversary of the MAC and for all of you out there who want to know how to craft and tell your company's story or the story of a product/service, then this article is for you.

The author, Carmine Gallo, articulates all the story elements and structure that made the launch of the MAC so successful 30 years ago. It was the story told by Steve Jobs at the Flint Center in Cupertino, CA near the Apple campus to an audience of more than 2,000 employees, board members, share holders, and reporters.

Read how he had folks standing up, shouting, and rooting for Apple and the MAC.

You too can do this. Take the insights from this article and start crafting your own unique story. You'll be glad you did!

Alison D. Gilbert's curator insight, January 25, 5:07 PM

Reading about Steve Jobs' presentation in the MAC in 1984 brings tears to my eyes. Not only was Mr. Jobs a technological genius, he was a showman of unparalleled skill.

Abdul Karmach's curator insight, January 30, 8:38 AM

It's true, facts tell, but stories SELL. It's biological. The decision making part of our brain doesn't use language; it uses something else, call it emotion. After an "emotional" decision is made, we use the rational part of our brain (neocortex) to support and prove that decision.

Great communication, great marketing and great results come from emotional content.
