The RodCam is a handheld camera crane for smooth and dynamic camera movements

Via Vico Ughetto
Cliff Gaines's insight:

There are the extenders for smartphones, this takes it to a new level in terms of heightened perspectives.  A handheld camera crane that's perfectly steady, who would have thought.  Love it, there are all kinds of situations that call for this angle shooting.

At least for limited locations shoots and interiors this is more interesting than a drone. And no problems with batteries and noise... Although I miss an option without Gopro...

Repurposing A Press Release For A Viral Video Opportunity

Repurposing A Press Release For A Viral Video Opportunity | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Whether a press release gets printed by all the media outlets you wanted it to or completely tanks, there’s always a sense that there’s nothing else you can do with it. Its purpose has been used …
Cliff Gaines's insight:

Absolutely, find ways to repurpose your content into a variety of formats because people look at different media sources in finding your content.  Press releases can be very useful in getting the word out about some bit of news, like and event you need to promote.  Going the video route makes sense because a video can express so much more the print.

It will take some thinking about finding the right angle, the video can be different than the original press release content as to the perspective you take.  The advantage is the video can be totally partial, unlike a press release that has to stay impartial.  With a bit of creativity, the video version can still be educational, but also entertaining.

Places To Promote Your Video

Places To Promote Your Video | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Not sure how to promote your YouTube videos? Start with this master list.
Facebook & Twitter This is probably the most obvious place to promote your videos, so I thought I’d get it out of the way early. However, to be successful on either of these platforms you can’t just drop links to your own content. You need to participate in the community, build trust, and share interesting things to grow your fan/follower base.
Cliff Gaines's insight:

The list is extensive as to where to publish your video.  It's important to syndicate across the net, especially social networks.  However, as stated above, it's just as important to build interest on the networks by engaging with others, otherwise not much will be gained.  You have to start somewhere, just get started and add another social network when you are ready to step up and support another social network account.

Obviously, putting some money behind the video for advertising will help the video gain traction.  Also consider the type of video and where it will do best, an explainer video is different than a company promo.

Are You Attached To Any Of These Top Social Media Platforms Using Video or Pics? | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Understand which social media brands your audience is attached to and dependent on - then be creative with how you can help reinforce their identity.
Cliff Gaines's insight:

The better question  to know the answer to is which top social media networks does your audience most frequent.  Video marketing is by far the best medium for telling your story and making an appealing call to action to your viewers.  Knowing your audience certainly helps figure out which social media networks are best to communicate through.  Delivering a series of videos that inform and entertain is the best way to build long term mindshare.  When your stats begin to show increases in traffic overall, and you see a positive trend in people finding your site directly, you know you have branding working for you.  It is not that surprising to me that Twitter does not come up in the top five, it is the reason for Twitter to have opened up using video and photos more in your tweets, mainly to stop losing marketshare to Instagram, and others.  When you use video in your marketing, the opportunity to rank in the two top search engines is greatly enhanced, and YouTube is a social media platform as well.  For help in reaching your audience through HD digital video, consider our services at http://a1studiosaz.com

Video killed the commercial real estate broker: A new marketing strategy - Silicon Valley Business Journal

Video killed the commercial real estate broker: A new marketing strategy - Silicon Valley Business Journal | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Everywhere you look, it seems as though video is taking over. (Remember when LCD installations were still notable at gas stations and taxi seat backs? ...
Cliff Gaines's insight:

Seeing what Silicon Valley is doing is a pretty good indicator of coming trends to other parts of the country.  For example, using video marketing in commercial real estate.  I've   done (http://a1studiosaz.com) a few videos of fine homes up for sale here in the Phoenix Valley, so it's not that much of a stretch to see commercial realtors soon to be using video to their advantage in order to show properties at their best.

What looks to work well is to shoot the video with some background action, such as young workers going about their business, any spots at or near the commercial property that shows amenities close by to better position by showing the location is convenient in several ways. The project should  accentuate  the fine points with telling imagery.  Putting an office project in the best light can help by promoting the geography and skilled workers who would be employed there.

Video Production Tips and Tricks for Your Destination: An Interview with Jeremy Williams | DMAI

Video Production Tips and Tricks for Your Destination: An Interview with Jeremy Williams | DMAI | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it

Travelers are a visual audience, and anytime you can provide that much more clarity from a visual standpoint, your potential visitors are that much more likely to develop a connection of sorts with your destination....

Cliff Gaines's insight:

Sometimes articles are written with industry terms that people don't know, you'll see DMOs referred to.  Think corporate video production and it stands for digital marketing officer,  one of those whoop de do titles I guess.  The thing here is, how do you come up with top video production and a few videos that hit the mark.  The bigger the budget the more choices you have, yet at the same time, the wrong choices lead to an expensive disaster.

Whether a video gets to the audience will depend on distribution to where your audience is.  That's when creating your own audience by blogging makes sense in all this.  Video can be the highest form of high value content delivered to an audience hungry for it.

Shooting your own video for your business can be done on the cheap, but who wants to look cheap on video?  Quality and messaging that is on target is best left to pros who can earn you a very nice return on your investment.  And, it's very affordable when compared to the time and money spent on getting something decent enough that gets viewers to take the actions you ask for.

Dumb Starbucks, Guerilla Marketing And Parody Law

Dumb Starbucks, Guerilla Marketing And Parody Law | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Dumb Starbucks opening was short-lived, but Nathan Fielder of Comedy Central pulled off the prank of the decade. Is parody law real in guerrilla marketing?
Cliff Gaines's insight:

Video ideas can be out of the box, and humor certainly works that way.  Planning out a parody that drives free publicity must include keeping it safe and insuring the event.  There is only one chance to get a live event right, so planning every camera angle and the whole video production helps ensure a great video with the great prospects of going viral.

Legal implications must be examined, so attention to pulling off a parody video must take care not to ridicule or damage a brand, but funny is funny even when a brand is being made fun of.  This is a great video marketing strategy that incorporated law into the marketing strategy.

Video marketing is becoming popular among businesses of all sizes. Here are four tips from marketing experts to make your next video campaign a success.
Cliff Gaines's insight:

The business clients I've been working with already realized the power of video to tell their story and promote their business products.  The reason A1 Studios gets a lot of businesses who come back to do more video is the effectiveness of the videos produced.  On location work is different than in-studio because there is less control over the environment, it could be lighting or noise, and any number of interruptions that happen.  One thing to do is to shoot a lot of B-roll because it's the only chance to shoot at the location.  The extra filming can become very useful in postproduction.

3 Ways to Maximize Linked In Using Video Marketing

3 Ways to Maximize Linked In Using Video Marketing | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it

You're creating videos and distributing them through Facebook, YouTube, your blog, and paid media opportunities to generate hundreds to millions of views. But are you forgetting LinkedIn, one of the most important channels for B2B marketers?

LinkedIn has documented research indicating that members of the "buying committee" are more likely to connect with vendors on LinkedIn than any other social media platform.....

Cliff Gaines's insight:

LinkedIn by far has the most influential people in business who use LinkedIn for finding talent and services that their companies need.  So connecting with vendors is better here than anywhere else.  Think about running your own video marketing campaign on LinkedIn because it is where decision makers are at and video is the most effective tool to be using.  Make sure your LinkedIn page is not written to attract HR and recruiters, but designed to help those considering doing business with you.  The key is not to razzle dazzle but to inform, so the format A1 Studios uses is explainer videos that project the client's expertise and show solutions to problems potential customers are looking to you for solutions.  Contact Cliff Gaines for explainer video production http://a1studiosaz.com/contact-1/

Video Marketing: The Top Trends In Video Production

Video Marketing: The Top Trends In Video Production | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Videos were one of the hottest trends in content marketing in 2013. And recent surveys suggest that they will touch even higher grounds in future. But why are videos so popular all of a sudden? And what are the current trends in video production? Read more to find out.
Cliff Gaines's insight:

There is so much content around, sorting out the best is up to curators who scour the net to deliver the very best to their audience who come specifically to their site for that very reason.  The video ideas trending now is because a minute of video is like delivering a million words instead of a thousand words as a single picture is known for the old saying.  Video is more recognized as the high value deliver system it is.  Now it is attention to interpretation of the information that's leading trends such as Slow Motion  for its vividness, sliders that glide the camera through a scene.  The 'steady cameras' that bring viewers right into the middle of the action.  Small drones now carry high tech cameras that are easily controlled on the ground, are adding new perspectives to video.  On the video production side, even color correction is making huge strides in generating high quality video.

It still comes down to telling a great story vividly through audio and video production.

Three areas exploding are mobile video that is upping the viewing time by being accessible anywhere, email video marketing that now can embed videos in emails with the new HTML5 standards.

And, explainer videos though considered basic are spreading valuable information far and wide around the world.  This is a fantastic leap in worldwide education and entertainment.  For a free consultation on a video production project in Phonenix, Scottsdale AZ, please visit and contact A1 Studios AZ http://a1studiosaz.com

Cliff Gaines's insight:

Of the five, one is not recommended, it's easy to see a small bias, but it is the weakest of the five:

live action

screen recording

motion graphics

slideshow video- not recommended

live streaming

If I were doing 'how-to' videos and the topic is easily covered by screen sharing, then screen recording is easy and cheap.  When we are doing testimonials, shooting events, live action has some controllable costs, but can get expensive quickly.  What http://a1studiosaz.com does, is go over what the ultimate goal of the video is, help the client put a script (or storyboard) together and layout the setup and preparation costs that could include on-location video shoots, any contingencies and post production editing time that affects the finished video cost.  Knowing what making changes during the shoot or affecting changes that cause extended editing, is important for the client to consider in advance of making decisions in the middle of video production.  Where there's clarity and quality video delivered, there's continued business and referrals that A1 Studios earns.  The consultations we offer truly benefit our prospective clients and us.

What Is It You Got That You Can Give And What Is It You Get?

What Is It You Got That You Can Give And What Is It You Get? | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it

It shouldn't take a seven-minute video to make us appreciate what our parents do for us, but we've found one anyway.

Cliff Gaines's insight:

There are stories to be told that express high emotions that pull us towards inner reflection.  Video marketing can reach and play our heart strings to take action, such as giving one's time to support a cause or charity that helps those in need of a little happiness through the support of strangers who care enough to give of themselves.  No longer are you a stranger when your helping hands deliver the kind of good that comes with no strings attached.  Imagine what you get out of it is your own happiness.

11 Things to Consider When Making a Promotional Video - Promo Video Ideas | Indigo Productions | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it

area11 things to consider when making a promotional video and coming up with ideas for promo videos.

Cliff Gaines's insight:

These considerations in getting down to the details of producing video promos help get the most bank for the buck.  As a local video production company in Scottsdale AZ, business clients usually have a general idea of what they want.  What we do at http://a1studiosaz.com is help make their vision relate to the purpose of the video promo.  One of the things business owners should think about is how to multipurpose the video so it can be designed in a way that creates a web commercial, an intro video, a how to instructional video for example.

The video promo is more effective when there's a strong concept  developed by the video producer that delivers your message with inspiration and emotional appeal.  It's important for the producer and the business owner to collaborate in order to help the owner get what they want and at the same time allow for creativity.

All in all, know your audience.

Facebook Auto-Play Video Ads May Not Come Until This Summer

Facebook Auto-Play Video Ads May Not Come Until This Summer | Video Ideas | Video Production | Video Marketing | Scoop.it
Facebook video ads will roll out until as late as early summer as the company tinkers with the product.
Cliff Gaines's insight:

The much talked about video ads format for Facebook advertising is still being scrutinized for effects on fans' feeds, with the hope of getting it right.  The risk is people paying less attention to their own newsfeed as it gets overrun by advertisers and other undesired connections.  It's one thing to provide tools to control your feed, which is Facebook's way of saying that it's your choice of what happens in your feed....when most people don't want to deal with controls that are nerdy in nature.

If Facebook gets it right, I can see video ads reaching the right audience at the right time.  This is very effective for developing a video advertising campaign that my business clients could profit from.  More video promos and ads help businesses get found and can deliver offers at the time people may be thinking about what their going to purchase.
