A very sane analysis of the situation. My strong belief is that a simple reduction of copyright protection term to one based on market considerations (how long games and other information products really live - not decades, actually, but just some years) will make a great positive shift in copyright regulation of digital millenium.

Very decent overview, although each of us who tracked industry for many years, may have something to add to the list. For a kind of interactive presentation of other list of changes you may try to play 'Evoland' (available at Steam, for instance). The mechanics and graphics of this RPG which looks like a jRPG progress while you play - e.g. you start with 2D monochrome graphics and one life, and at certain stage you have 256 colors 3D graphics, life bar and character progression through levels!
