YouTube: Easily create video intros and outros

YouTube: Easily create video intros and outros | Video for Learning | Scoop.it

If you use YouTube playlists, to organise and manage videos, you may wish to try out a new feature which will enable you to add intros and outros to  the videos in the playlist to " weave individual videos together into a bigger story"

You can create these either as recorded 'to camera' pieces using your built in webcam or as text intros, there are a number of different styles and background effects to choose from. There is also an option to add background music.

The tool can be found in your Playlist settings in the Video Manager, click: Edit Playlist to use.

If students are creating playlist this facility might help them to think crtically about the content and sequences in a playlist.

Frequency™ for iPad on the iTunes App Store

Frequency is a free iPad app for discovering, aggregating, watching and sharing online video.

Frequency is easy works rather like Fipboard,  in that you can search for your favourite channels and sources to add to the Tuner for quick access to the latest videos. Perhaps what might be most  most useful is taht you can connect to you Facebook Twitter and YouTube accounts and watch the latest posting from you networks or on YouTube your favourited and uploaded videos. As with other, similar online tools, putting in some time to explore will bring its rewards.

I look forward to seeing what other education professionals think of Frequency, or how they use it

Vidque

Vidque | Video for Learning | Scoop.it

"Vidque is a free video curation platform designed to help discover, filter and archive online video content. Controlled and curated by its users, Vidque aims to simplify the discovery of quality video content through the joint effort of the online community"

The site aggregates video from YouTube, Vimeo, TED and Blip.TV in a social media environment.  Each video you curate is presented in a clean and pleasing simple design together with the tags. This site is easy to use and I can see schools finding it a good way to collect and shared videos for learning.

The Khan Academy, SmartHistory & Google Art Project

The Khan Academy, SmartHistory & Google Art Project | Video for Learning | Scoop.it

"You may have been wondering what Smarthistory has been up to since we joined Khan Academy in October. We’ve had to keep this hush-hush…but we can now announce that we have contributed more than 100 videos to the unbelievably great, second iteration of the Google Art Project"

The recent announcement of an extensive Version 2 of the Google Art Project, covering 151 museums and thousands of works has been followed by the news that SmartHistory.org have been collaborating with Google on building education resources to extend and support the project.

I think this is a good example of how content can be part of an ecosystem for learning. I am sure it will encourage similar initiatives elsewhere.
